“The Kulana shoes are very comfortable. This is my second pair of OluKai I have purchased. I used to wear tennis shoes during my leisure time. I now wear the OluKai's and only use tennis shoes when I work out.”
“I have wide feet (EE) and I have tried many casual shoes. I'm looking to wear these without socks with jeans and shorts in the summer. I'm tired of boat shoes. I have worn through numerous pairs of Cole-Haan driver moccasins (even though they were "wide"). The bottom outside where the upper attaches to sole splits consistently.
Similarly, I have worn out the driver moccasins from Minnetonka. Likewise, they were "wide" but the dot pattern was not and my foot eventually rolls and the outside of the sole is simply me walking on leather. Can't wear these when it is wet either.
Enter Olukai's Kulana. I first heard about them at a running store. The clerk raved about this brand. Here are my observations with about a month of wear:
- well constructed - stitching, leather. A really solid shoe
- had to "break them in" but these fit my wide feet well even though they are a "M" width. My foot does not roll over the sole
- I found them to be true to size, my 11 is an 11
- leather becomes soft and supple - like butter
- great arch support
- takes a polish readily and cleans up well for business casual events
- only worry is that the rubber sole pattern does not cover the entire bottom of the shoe so my outer mid-foot and last bit of heel hit the ground and may eventually wear the leather down. Time will tell. If these hold up, my plan is to buy another pair in a different color.”
