“I traveled for a month in a variety of settings (beach, surf, city,) with a couple of weddings and nicer events to dress for, and wanted some shoes that would be lightweight and versatile for the variety of settings. These shoes were THE PERFECT SHOE. I walked miles and miles and never got sore feet/legs in these. I also love that because the bottom is rubber, they are good for a pop-up rain shower while out and about (though not a great choice for walking into a body of water because of the leather). \nI got the mustard/gold pair, and they fit true to size, stretch a tiny bit (leather) after wearing a while, and look nicer than other functional shoes while providing the same comfort/functionality (and not clunky)! \nI love them.”

“I cannot say enough good things about these sandals. I have, shall we say, problem feet. If I have to walk or stand a lot, my feet hurt, swell, and just generally get mad at me. This is especially problematic on vacations (cities, theme parks) where I'm walking and standing all day long, and I've never had good luck with a vacation shoe" until now. I just got back from a 7 day trip to NYC and I can officially sing this shoe's praises. My watch says I walked about 65 miles over the course of the week, and the 'Upena worked miracles. I abandoned them one day in favor of running shoes, and it was a huge mistake. These are durable, have plenty of support where I need it (arches), they have a good amount of cushioning in the heel and ball of your foot (so pounding the pavement all day didn't kill my feet). They are not super cushy like a lot of the comfort sandals I saw in stores, which I think is a good thing - they offer plenty of support while having just enough cushion and bounce to totally protect your feet. There is no shoe in the world that will alleviate all my foot pain after walking all day long, but these came pretty darn close, and I am in love. I plan to grab a pair in a different color now. 10/10”

“These are comfortable sandals for a few hours. The strap over my toe is slightly tight, I was hoping it would stretch a little. And when it's hot, they make my feet sweat because the bottom of them feels like rubber. Causing your feet to make weird sounds.”

“I bought these to bring backpacking in Europe. I wore them everyday for a month, walking up to 19 miles a day, and they never once hurt my feet. I wore them in saltwater a few times and they didn't like that much. The end of the strap started to peel apart but its nothing a little shoe glue couldn't fix. I've had them for a couple years now and the bottoms show little wear and they're still as comfortable as ever. Could not recommend these sandals more.”
