After seeing all the reviews online I had to experience the Nomad Solo for myself!!! It ticks every box and for the price is the best value tent I’ve seen around. Really pleased with it?

I’ve only used my tent for one night so far, but it was great. Easy set up, plenty of room, even with a wide sleep mat, and loads of great features (I have v2). I also have the footprint which worked well, particularly in the vestibule, although I’ll be interested to see how this latter part affects things in heavy rain.

Camped out in the Brecon Beacons last night in filthy weather. Had to pitch it for the first time in the dark aswell. Despite 10hrs of rain and gusts always felt confident through the night. Tent is spacious, robust, fantastic attention to detail and really hard to fault the latest version. It’s slightly heavier than some ultralight tents but worth the carry in any mixed weather outlook. Already in my top 2 favourite tents

This is a seriously good tent for the money. I own several Hilleberg tents, so I know a good tent when I get one & this nomad xlite is great. Had some fairly unpleasant weather first time I used it & the tent performed extremely well. My favourite tent at the moment. Well done Ben & the team at Otimos. I would just like to say also, customer service is exceptional. Really good. Thanks guys

I’m very happy with my new V2 version (returned the V1 version) Nomad Solo tent, the changes that they have made to it make it so much more of a better shelter for spending long dark nights in! Although, I still wouldn’t call it a true ‘4-season’ tent with not having the ability to close off that mesh section on the inner door, if they put a ‘two-way’ zip (V3 Nomad?..) on there so that you could do that, even partially…then I truly think that it would be. Saying that though, I was plenty warm enough inside it on my first nights wild camp recently in the rainy Derbyshire Peaks, the temp dropped to +2 degrees overnight with a -2 windchill, but the temperature remained at a constant +6.5 degrees inside the tent overnight! I did have quite a bit of condensation in the morning all over the inner fly, and some on inside the inner with me, but then it had rained heavily all that day, and on-off throughout the night, so that’s no fault of the tent - but to be expected in such wet contortions.. Overall I think this will be very solid and dependable shelter, and this will now be my go-to choice over the winter, really looking forward to testing it out in some snow!

So I’m now the happy owner of the new V2 version of the Nomad Solo, what can I say?.. Well it certainly feels a sturdy and reasonably spacious shelter for a 1-man tent, and I really appreciate the changes they have made over the first version! (which I passed up on) I don’t even mind the short pole sleeves now, although I haven’t put it up in any strong winds over 15mph as yet! I really like the colour which blends right into the natural environment very well while I’m out wild camping, this is actually a very important factor for me when I’m choosing a new tent. The quality also looks decent too, for this price point. I still think improvements need to be made to make it a true “4-season” shelter though, like having the ability to fully/partially close off that mesh at the top on the ‘inner door’ with a two-way zip. I’d also like an extra toggle on the centre webbing strap so that it can be connected to the bathtub floor and pulled out fully at it’s widest point, to keep me from sliding about between the (needed) footprint and inner tent groundsheet, the gear-bin does help with this a little - but not really enough to be honest. Although, I do like how it now comes with tabs on all four of the large main panels, but sadly the elastic it comes pre-fitted with isn’t up to the job and is very thin and feeble to say the least, so this was my first upgrade mod on the tent, I fitted some 3mm bungee which I have also doubled over making two (or just one) loops, this is now so much better as a result! I’ve also swapped out the garish red guylines, but that was more down to personal taste… Another awesome feature would be if they added a gear-loft for even more very useful extra storage, as well as the extra pockets on this V2! I think if Otimos continue to listen to feedback, and keep on improving their product by making changes like they have already made over the V1, plus some of these other changes that I’d really like to see, (V3 Nomad?..) in the next version, then this really could be close to perfect! I really enjoyed my first ever night out in it last night, (4/12/25) although I did have lots of condensation inside it come the morning, not only on the inside of the fly but also on the inside of the inner tent also, mostly at the head end, but then it was a very soggy first camp - and it had rained all day, and most of the night too. Nice warm shelter though, it dropped to just 2 degrees overnight (with a -2 windchill) but it remained +6.5 degrees inside the tent! This will now be my go-to winter shelter, really looking forward to seeing how it handles a bit of snow…
