“I installed this disposal to replace and older Insinkerator model that got hopelessly messed up when my MIL put Saran Wrap down the sink. :(This Badger 5 worked OK over time, but did cause one bad clog because it didn't do a good job with a large pile of potato peels. My issue was that after 6 years the bottom plate completely rusted out, causing one of the"knuckles" to fall off. This caused the unit to vibrate like crazy when I tried to run it. The disposal was also quite noisy (much nosier than the Evolution model I replaced it with).Overall I'd say this was a decent unit for the price, but I think it should have lasted longer than 6 years before rusting out.”
“I have now bought another Badger 5 1/2 hp with power cord. The last one lasted 7 years with almost 325 days per year usage.Pros-Easy to install-Warranty: They come to you-Does what it says on the label-Competitive PricingCons-Can be noisy”
“I ordered the hard wired unit, unfortunately the corded unit came and there was not way of hard wiring unless I disassembled the motor housing. So to install this I had to purchase and install an outlet under the sink. that took me an added 90 minutes and $15 including an un anticipated trip to the hardware store.would have giving it 5 stars if it wasn't for that”

“It’s a great product! However, please make sure you get the unit without a power cord if your current setup does not have a wall outlet connected to a switch i.e. if your current unit is connected to a wire coming out of the wall. I just spent around 2 hours trying to remove the power cord from this unit (it’s really hard to do it).”
