InSinkErator BADGER5, Continuous-Feed Garbage Disposal without Cord, Waterborne Gray Enamel, 1/2 HP Reviews

4.1 Rating 590 Reviews
The most difficult part of installation is lifting the 15 pound disposer on to the mounting bracket under the sink. There is just not a lot of room to leverage your arms. What I found works is to prop up the disposer with a box or other space filler so the disposer lip is very close to the bracket. Then it becomes easy to lift the small distance to the bracket, twist, and lock in place. Everything is working great.

My disposal only had 1 screw in the bag. My contractor had to leave for 50 minutes to get another screw. When he returned and went to install, the missing screw was inside the disposal... this cost me an extra $75. Other than that, everything else seems to be working and good. I will update review in a few mi this.

It’s a great product! However, please make sure you get the unit without a power cord if your current setup does not have a wall outlet connected to a switch i.e. if your current unit is connected to a wire coming out of the wall. I just spent around 2 hours trying to remove the power cord from this unit (it’s really hard to do it).

First time replaced the disposer by myself, still spend an hour finishing the installation after watching the youtube video. It's very good, the noise is lower than the old one.

Please include in your instruction to cut the whole for dishwasher connection... It took me two days to figure out and I though the dishwasher gone bad, when it stopped draining the water.Overall good product.

Overall satisfied with this product and ease of installation. Old one was dying and had food build up after 4+ (unknown) years. Hardest part was cleaning out the old piping. New unit used same mount as old one so it just popped in there. Everything went back together reusing the old pipes after cleaning. I would buy again, and no issues with the seller or package damage. Also like the pre-attached power wire.

It's inexpensive and easy to install. It very loud and sounds horrendous when operating. I really don't see this disposal lasting long. It's definitely a short period, throw away disposal. Something you'd find in a cheap rental or flip house.
