A little disappointed because it was expecting it to be able to be plugged in or hard wired but it was really only set to he plugged in. My husband had to take the wiring out and then re hardwire the mount. Other than that we are happy with this. Quiet and small but good work horse :)

This is an exact replacement for an existing garbage disposal that started leaking underneath.I did not install the original and have lived in my house for 6 years, so the longevity of these is not certain. The house is 18 years old, and I am not sure if the leaking unit is the original garbage disposal. Therefore, just be aware that these are prone to leaking, especially if you have hardwood floors and mold sensitivity.

The instructions on the box are not complete! You have to knock out a small disk to let the water flow or you get a flooded floor like I did. Read all instructions very carefully.

Overall satisfied with this product and ease of installation. Old one was dying and had food build up after 4+ (unknown) years. Hardest part was cleaning out the old piping. New unit used same mount as old one so it just popped in there. Everything went back together reusing the old pipes after cleaning. I would buy again, and no issues with the seller or package damage. Also like the pre-attached power wire.

I am a 77 year old Disabled person and this Garbage Disposal was pretty easy for me to install all by myself. Here's a "BIG TIP" for you... Although this unit is quite heavy and difficult trying to hold it up under the sink with your hands while trying to install it, I used a "Car Jack" under the sink to jack the Disposal into precise position and hold it there, while I finished installing it. WOW !!! Doing it as I did, will save you over $150.00 in Commercial Installation costs. When doing a "re-install" (where you will be replacing the "Original" Disposal), there is no need to replace the metal ring and putty, attached at the upper/outer top edge in the middle of the sink. And... a new rubber part comes with the new Disposal, and the old rubber part remains with the old Disposal which is all thrown away as one piece. This Disposal installed quite easily with the "Quick Install" rotating top, which worked great after installation. It came with the electrical cord and plug already hooked up and properly in place. (Oh... Be sure to read the instructions about using a hammer and screwdriver to remove a "small plastic plug" inside one of the side openings in the unit.)Copy and print these helpful directions and have them with you, when you are ready to start your installation. I really love this Disposal and thus gave it a Full 5 Stars! I would recommend this unit to everyone.http://www.plumbingsupplyandmore..com/InSinkErator-Badger-Garbage-Disposal-Power/dp/B00PM8STLM/ref=cm_rdp_productAltair Walker - Everett, WA
