I had the same model before but I had this one installed by a pro (couldn't do it myself, too heavy) and it's very noisy. It does the job, though.

I had a badger 1/2 hp go out so I replaced it with same. Thought I could just swap them but not so easy. I ended up just replacing everything to make it all water tight. I tried to use the old flange that connected the disposal to the drain but that didn't work. I had to replace the flange, and add the rubber gasket and that fixed my leak. Then had to replace the pipe connecting the disposal to the drain. That wasn't necessarily a fault of the disposal...just an issue that popped up. When connecting the snap ring, they suggest putting the disposal on top of the flange in the sink but that didn't work...not enough weight. I used a 30 lb kettle bell to sit on the sink flange and was then able to put on the snap ring and get things going. The problem with plumbing is if you disturb anything, you risk multiple failures. It's not the fault of the disposal unit but just life with plumbing. I just installed it today and it's much quieter than the badger it replaced. Time will tell if it's worth it.

However it is so stupid that the instruction to installed with a dishwasher system comes only as point number 12. The device should come with a warning or a mark that the dishwasher connection is plugged.Yes, I felt stupid but after talking to another friend that installed his, he also agrees that it is easy to miss

I bought this to replace same model that started leaking when it was 3-4 years old. Super easy to replace since the old sink drain and mount could remain in place, just unplug, twist off, twist on, plug in. Don't forget to punch out the dishwasher plug if you have one.If you have wood floors in your kitchen I'd recommend using a wide shallow bin to store the under-sink stuff and place it under this unit. The bin is very convenient, slides out like a drawer to access your stuff, plus when the disposal leaks you'll catch the water and notice it there first and prevent bad things happening to your floor.

This is the 2nd one I've replaced... The first one lasted about 10 years and this one only lasted about 5 years. Not sure why the difference! I've just replaced the most recent one today so I'm hoping that it lasts longer than the last one did. Also, the one I installed today had a PVC replacement part that was about 1/2" longer than the original which caused me some frustration, so I ended up having to use the old part again. This mfg. is one I've had in my residences for the last 40+ years and they have done well by me.

Good product that is an exact replacement of the builder’s install. Will likely corrode as the last one did and start leaking again in 10-12 years but since I will have moved by then, didnt want to invest in a higher quality unit. Otherwise it was an easy replacement since all parts were the same and the unit has worked fine over the past 6 months. I didnt bother changing the sink sleeve. If you plan to stay long in your home, it may be worth investing in a higher quality unit.
