“This is a great little pump, but I have one modification that I would make to the installation. The standard installation of this pump with the supplied fittings calls for gluing the pump into a 1-1/2" PVC tee. The problem is, there is no way to remove the pump without cutting the PVC installation if you were to have a bad pump, and if the built-in, fifty-cent check valve/flap on the pump itself were to fail, there's no way to access it inside of the tee, even though it appears to be a replaceable part. So the pump is ruined. Instead, glue the pump into a 1-1/2" male threaded adapter that has been screwed tightly into a female threaded adapter glued into the tee. That way, if the pump needs to be removed for service, it can simply be unscrewed. Or if it goes bad, it could be replaced by a simple plug in the tee.”
“the latest 507-005 is called the KEY..older model is the Sentry..both have the same #507-005..the difference is mainly in the charger/controller..Sentry is 10 amp, and it doesn't have a test function...Key model controller/charger is 1.6 amp and does have a test function button that activates the pump briefly..the low amp charger increases battery life but on a fully discharged battery may take 2-3 days to fully charge..the 10 amp charger model may take only 1 full day to fully charge..warranty on Sentry is only 1 year vs 3 yrs on the Key...gpm on the sentry is 23 at 5', and 15 at 10' with fully charged battery..if your vertical run is long or you get a lot of water, you might consider the 508 model which pumps almost twice the amount of water per minute but at the expense of slightly shorter run times..my Sentry model lasted 11 years and I just replaced it with the Key model..pump is identical on both..I recommend both as long as you know the limitations..take time to download and read the assembly instructions..build quality is typical Zoeller which is very good..”

“Fast shipping. Great service from Plumbing Planet. One small problem was quickly resolved by the Customer Service department. Backup pump installs easily if you follow the directions. Time will tell, but the Zoeller pump appears to be a great solution for a backup system. I will look to Plumbing Planet for future plumbing needs.”
