“Installation is backwards compared to most. It “locks” in and the locks don’t stay put so it comes off easily. Seat cracked within a month of use. Very heavy and loud lid too.”
“Just like the one we replaced! The lost star is for the design flaw which is why we had to replace our seat to begin with: the hinges are plastic, and if someone falls on the toilet (yeah, that happened) the hinges can't take the pressure, and shear. Otherwise a very clever design, and decent materials. Since only one hinge busted, I took the other one off and set it aside, so that if the same thing happens again (we all hope not!) I can just replace the hinge. If any one knows where to buy just the hinges, let me know!”
“This is constructed very well, is sturdy and the finish is flawless. The slow-close feature works as expected. The only complaint is that the caps that close onto the hinge mounts do not "snap" down; when those caps are not fully down, the seat tends to move a little. That is not a very big deal, but should not be that way. I would buy it again.”
“Times have changed for toilet seat installation (LOL). I've installed a number of seats over my 65 yrs. Never needed instructions. Instructions could not be found in the box, or on the box itself. The design has the bolts installed 1st, & connectors to the bolts are attached to the seat. You have to 'Unlock' the seat connectors. then try to line it up & snap the connector to the bolts, which is hard if not aligned perfectly. Once you snap the connectors in place, you have to 'lock' it. So, I know how to do it now, after going back to the Pumbing supply site, trying to find instructions. So here is the kicker, if I move & this seat is still in place, the new owner will have a heck of a time getting it off! AS this is an unusual design from what I have seen previously.”
