Church 585ECBP-000, Toilet Seat with Cover, Elongated, Enameled Wood, White Reviews

4.2 Rating 152 Reviews
Hubby installed but found that the fastening system isn't exactly a perfect fit (the tightening bolt wing gets in the way). . Will probably have to purchase a easier to use tightening nut in the future. We'll see what happens.

Toilet seat comfortable and well built. However the seat yellowed in less than a year. I called Church and asked why and they said seat discolored because our cleaners are probably cleaning toilet seat with more than the recommended antibacterial dish soap and warm water. Seat is ok, but I would not purchase.

It is smaller than the toilet it went. However, it is a universal fit and was able to replace the broken toilet seat. Great design for a small toilet.

Quick to install if you read the directions on the back of the box. I ordered two of them, and of course they placed a sticker directly over the instructions on the back of the box on both boxes. Thankfully I was able to peel it off one of the boxes so I could see that you do NOT remove the screw cap. On every other toilet seat I've installed you pop open the cap, install the screw and of course put the nut on the bottom of the toilet. On these you DON'T install it that way!!! You simply place the plastic screw through the top of your toilet and put the plastic nut underneath the bowl (be sure you put the curved side of the nut to the toilet side) and tighten it down. Then you place the seat with the cap in place over the top of the screws. The screw have a lip with a groove that engages the seat. Then you twist slightly the cap while pushing down on the toilet seat. You'll hear it snap in place. Release the cap and repeat on the other side. The caps have molded into them an arrow which way to twist the caps to install or remove the seat. To remove the whole seat to clean it or the bowl would literally take a few seconds. This is a pretty neat install/removal method for the seat.

Had two plastic seats with sharp edges that had to go. These Wood seats are excellent replacements. easy to install.

Easy to install, check, nice material, check, durable, check... They only get three stars because of the attachment mechanism. The way it works, you put a sort of mushroom shaped plastic stub in the bolt hole in the toilet and then the seat has a plastic mechanism that "locks" onto the mushroom, except that it doesn't. It clicks into place but that doesn't mean it's really locked. I'll leave it to your imagination why anyone would do this, but if I lean to one side on the seat, the attachment on the other side pops off. I weigh about 175 so I don't think I qualify for being over the weight limit. The attachments are designed to be easy to remove for cleaning. Great. You can't really tighten them or lock them. Next time I'll get a seat with the bolt that runs from the hinge straight through the toilet bolt hole without the soft, plastic locking mechanism.

the seat is not contoured in the rear - it is square so it overhangs the toilet which is odd. The craftsmanship seems good.
