“After installing this thing and turning it on I do not understand all the negativity on the noise. Not loud nor annoying in any way. Much smaller than my old unit AND lined right up with my original plumbing. I love the fact that you can remove the splash guard from the top to pull out what ever falls in. Did not understand this until I actually saw it with my own eyes. Genius design. Great disposal.Only problem: unlike other disposals, it does not come with the tool to manually turn/dislodge disposal should something get lodged inside the mechanism. It does NOT use an Allen wrench. You need a special tool. Part #1037. Type in the seach bar Moen disposal tool 1037. It will pop up. Enjoy.”
“Comparison to the Insinkerator disposal I had, this one has 5 years warranty vs 1 year.It's makes noise but it's not so loud, just a humming noise with the sound of whatever you're grinding up.The top disposal cover I love because it keeps things like spoons and forks from sliding in, an issue I had with my insinkerator.The install shouldn't be difficult, I had an issue lining up the gasket with the unit under the sink which caused water to leak but I finally got it secured in with some plumbers putty. I think it wasn't a design fault though.It's much more slim although taller than the insinkerator but fits just as a universal disposal unit.I'm glad I purchased this disposal unit over another insinkerator and I'll be purchasing another one.”
“First time I have ever replaced a garbage disposal myself. Instructions were pretty straight forward, but a YouTube video demonstration helped. Fit into my existing pipeline with no issue. Don't forget to pop out the plug for the dishwasher drain like I did or you've made extra work for yourself haha. Kit included everything except the plumbers putty which is not expensive.”
“This 1/2 HP moen disposal is louder and less powerful than our previous insink 1/2 hp unit.It works fine but louder and less powerful is a typical result when paying less money. Hopefully it lasts awhile.”
“With the Money name, I expected more quality for the price. You can save money with the Waste King or Waste Maid units and have basically very similar units.”
“Everything about the product is great. Easy install, runs great. My only gripe is that as I’m installing it I realize it did NOT come with any plumbers putty which is necessary to seal the drain flange to the actual sink. Do yourself a favor, pick some up before you begin your instal. It’s like $2.50. Save yourself a trip to the store midway through.”
