So far so good but.....there is no rubber flaps (as pictured) blocking the opening from unwanted items falling in. Never seen this before. The rubber flaps also keeps food from being flung at you.So be careful of rags and metal objects entering while in use.Even though it is physically smaller then my 1/2hp In-Sink-Erator it still works just as good.

The Moen Garbage Disposal was not easy to install, you have to very carefully reading the instructions and that is never enough, because your particular situation may be different, and you have to be able to do adjustments in order to get the job done. For example, we were not able to uninstall our old sink flange. The flange is welded to the Kenmore sink we bought at Sears 30 years ago. Fortunately, our Kenmore sink flange was exactly the same size as the one included with the Moen Garbage Disposal, and after 30 years is in perfect condition.Dis-assembling the Moen Disposal in order to install it was also not easy, since you are doing this for the first time. But, once the Moen Garbage Disposal was installed, we realized it is an excellent product: smaller, lighter in weight, much faster and quieter. Just a better product and we recommend it.

I did not install this item. I return it because I felt at 1/2 HP, it may be a little weak. I could purchase a 1.5HP unit for a few dollars more.

First off, i first received a used item. It was obviously used so i sent it back and got a replacement.I am a female and I installed this by myself as the home I just bought had no disposal at all. So i had to start from scratch with the installation and couldn’t cut corners like if it was just a replacement. The hardest part was taking the bolt thingy off of the old drain (ended up using a hacksaw and that was a b1tch)!!!Then the installation was pretty easy, if i had any issue at all it was holding the sink drain parts up and putting the ring on. That took about half an hour for me but i got it. The ring is definitely the hardest part imo.I don’t find it anymore noisy than others i have used.Works well so far.

This product is loud, however I do like the fact that you can manage how much goes down the disposal. Most times I have force the waste down.
