“In our kitchen makeover we choose a deep solid-surface sink, and a Waste King garbage disposal. This dropped the drain connection around 3 inches lower than before for the P-trap. No luck with finding a solution to hook up the drain from local Lowes and Home Depot, and even a specialty plumbing store. But this part did the trick in the reversed J-bend configuration. Just had to trim a disposal elbow (7 inch from Lowes) to match the height of the J-bend. Easy to connect without tools, solid, and leak-tight.”
“I installed these in 4 bathroom sinks and it was so nice that the direction of the p-trap is interchangeable. This gave me options for installing in tight quarters. Wish more plumbing pipes had this flexibility. Note: it mounts about 3/16" lower than the standard p-trap.”
“Did not know this existed as they are not carried in HD or Lowes. Even plumbing shops didn't carry them. I installed a 10" deep single basin sink with a garbage disposal so I now had a about a 3" Gap to fill. The key to this P-Trap is that the short side has a little less than 1/2" of slip pipe fitting. Normal P-Traps are setup to receive a beveled arm from the main drain. So this one gives you JUST enough sleeve to make a water tight seal. What I was able to do is cut a piece of extension to size and connect it to the short side (the correct orientation) from the main drain and just slipped the other side over garbage disposal outlet. The price is a bit steep especially for me, since I only used the P-Trap. But this is about the only solution out there.”
“Perfect solution for a sink with a low drain relative to the ‚Äúrough‚Äù. Specially molded j trap has adequate insertion depth to be mounted ‚Äúbackwards‚Äù without concern. The fact that this solution is only $7 makes it even better. Wall thickness of tubes is fine.”
