“As to instruction quality there were no instructions... Eventually I took an entire 2.8 oz tube of waterproof silicone and smeared it all around the base of the valve... Another 2.8 oz of Silicone and this time I gobbed it on the four corners and ever being able to remove it be damned. Success, no more running toilet and with a little luck I'll be moved or dead before it starts running again.”
“Check the toilet warranty—most are 10 years. Call American Standard and they’ll send a replacement for free. Also get the tank connection kit to replace gaskets. Tip: Use a sponge to soak out leftover tank water.”
