“Not too noisy. Runs till the drain is completely dry. It has been in use under a basement laundry tub that the washing machine drains into for over a year and still going strong. We keep a nylon stocking over the end of the washing machine discharge hose to keep most of the lint out of the pump but the stocking has come off a few times and no disasters, so this thing isn't super frail or anything. The whole trick with getting these things not to kick on and off constantly is having a valve on the drain pipe so how fast it's able to pump out is in tune with the flow of water going in the sink. Also a check valve is crucial to the operation.”
