What feels comfortable may be completely inaccurate. That is why these devices need to be fit and manufactured by a licensed dental professional. Why do you thing the average review is 2 out of 5 stars because this is all guess work and finger crossing.”
Your review pertains to a tradeoff that we intentionally made in the design of the PureSleep device, and I'd like to explain why we made designed it the way we did -- and how you can still get good results without having to cross your fingers too much!
You are correct. You advance your jaw as much as is comfortable, and you only get one chance to make an impression of your teeth with the "right" amount of advancement. However while the mechanism we use has that limitation, it also has two very important advantages. First, it is extremely compact and less bulky than any of our competitors. Second, once you make an impression of your teeth, it cannot slip out of adjustment, and that's actually a huge problem for our competitors with bulkier adjustment mechanisms that allow ongoing adjustment.
To get around the limitation described above, we enclose an individualized, postage-paid return shipping label with every order. This way, if you don't get the right amount of advancement the first time, just contact our customer support people know you want to exchange it, put it back in the box, apply the label and drop it in any USPS mailbox. We'll mail you another one -- and another return shipping label, so if you need a third try (unusual, but it happens) you can try again at no cost and with minimal hassle, aside from having to wait.
By the way, you actually can repeat the fitting process if you didn't make a deep enough impression, and that's the more common fitting problem. But if you still snore, it's because you need more jaw advancement. One thing's for sure, we you get it right, it definitely works and it's the most compact, comfortable device out there. And normally, it does work. A fairly wide range of advancement will do the trick, so finding a level of advancement that's comfortable has turned out to be the best starting point.
So even though you didn't have a great experience your first time around, I know you didn't buy a PureSleep device just so you could return it. You bought it so it would work for you. I'm telling you that it can work, and it will work if you work with us to get to that point. If you care to try again, buy another PureSleep and make sure you give our customers support people a chance to help you get the results you want. And if we don't succeed, just use the return shipping label to return it for a refund.
