In 2023, we returned to the Galapagos Islands for a two week cruise. It was absolutely fabulous once again. We visited the Galapagos with Quasar on the MV Evolution in 2017 and 2019. We have been trying to get back ever since and were finally able to make the return trip in Sept./Oct. of 2023. We were delighted to see the cruise director Steve as well as two of our favorite guides from the past, Alex and Bolo. These familiar friendly faces made our two weeks in the Galapagos a wonderful immersion in the stunning beauty of these unique islands. We are often asked why we return to the Galapagos when there are so many other places to visit in the world. For us, the answer is simple. Each time we come to the Galapagos, the experience is different and each time we come, it is better than we thought possible. On this trip, we had the wonderful opportunity to snorkel with penguins. These often shy creatures were swimming amongst us, unconcerned by our presence. It was magical and something we had never had the chance to experience before. We saw sea turtles on many of our snorkels along with marbled rays, spotted eagle rays, white tip reef sharks, octopus, the occasional manta ray and a myriad of other colourful reef fish. On one snorkel I counted 17 turtles swimming with us. It was astonishing. The shore walks were interesting and informative, and we were surrounded by unique and indigenous species like the Galapagos Hawk, Giant Tortoises, Galapagos Sea Lions, flightless cormorants, fierce visaged marine iguanas and colourful land iguanas. Back on the ship, our cabin was very luxurious and the food was varied and delicious. For anyone planning on visiting the Galapagos islands, we would absolutely recommend the MV Evolution and the Quasar team. They are simply the very best. Ali & Roger

My husband and I returned to the MV Evolution for the 3rd visit in 2023. We had always dreamed of seeing the Galapagos Islands and In 2017, we decided to make the once in a lifetime trip. Our travel agency, Renshaw Travel strongly recommended Quasar and their ship, MV Evolution. Our trip exceeded all our expectations and was so wonderful that we returned to the MV Evolution for a two week double cruise in 2019 and again in 2023. Each time we visit the Galagagos with the Quasar team, we are struck anew at the wonderful experience. The wildlife is absolutely stunning and the guides are incredible. We were fortunate to have Bolo and Alex in both 2019 and 2023 and found them to be charming and extremely knowledgeable. Together with Sophia, who delighted in the water, we felt they significantly added to our experience of the islands. Steve, the cruise director was also a favorite of ours as he was with us in 2017, 2019 and 2023. With his ever present smile, Steve made every wish come true. It was a truly fabulous holiday. We cannot imagine visiting the Galapagos Islands with any crew other than the Quasar MV Evolution team. They are quite simply the best. Ali & Roger

Our trip to Galapagos exceeded expectation! The crew and naturalists were amazing. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The naturalists were very knowledgeable and it was obvious how much they loved the Galapagos and sharing the islands with us. Now that we’re home we can’t stop talking about our trip and highly recommending the Evolution! We can’t wait to go back and do the second set of islands!

We are so happy we found Quasar and the ship Evolution for an incredible trip through the Galapagos Islands. I can't imagine there is a better way to go. We chose the Evolution for its size - not too small and not too big, but just right! This means the excursions were handled with ease, in small groups, and it was enjoyable to meet all the other passengers. Daily activities were well organized and everything was well-communicated by local, exceptional guides. The quality of the food and the comfort of the rooms were outstanding. Of course, the Galapagos Islands and wildlife were also amazing, and though you might see them from any boat, the Evolution brought a level of quality that elevated the entire experience.

The Evolution Yacht was the perfect size for the 31 guests. It had plenty of space to spread out - dining room, outdoor dining area, outdoor lounge / bar, briefing room, and lounge chairs at the bow. Staterooms were actually nice-sized. All was very convenient and well-maintained.

The food was superb and the stateroom was spacious. Snacks were available 24/7. The only downside was there were a couple of nights when the ship rocked back and forth a little too much for this land lubber.

Dear David, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience aboard the Evolution. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our gourmet offerings and the comfort of your stateroom. Additionally, we're sincerely grateful for the other 5-star review you left for our company on this platform—it truly means a lot to us. It's true that smaller, more intimate ships in the Galapagos, like ours, may experience a bit more movement compared to the large ships. However, as you rightly pointed out in your other review, this is a minimal trade-off for the unparalleled flexibility, intimacy, and breathtaking animal encounters that you experienced, which come with traveling with only a small group. We're proud to say that the Evolution is one of the most stable vessels of its size in the Galapagos, and we consistently strive to offer our guests an exceptional and comfortable experience. For those who may be more sensitive to a ship's motion while navigating, we generally recommend opting for cabins located on Decks closer to the water line, and towards the middle of the ship. These areas experience less movement while navigating. It's worth noting that in your booking, the cabin you booked was on the topmost deck and towards the ship's front, which might have influenced your experience. Thank you again for both of your great reviews, David. We appreciate your feedback and hope that the overall beauty and magic of the Galapagos made your journey unforgettable. Until next time! Warm regards, ~ The Quasar Customer Service Team
