It’s cheaply built compared to the Ratio 8. The coffee grind basket clogs and the drip hole is too small. If we didn’t have our old carafe we’d be out of luck. I honestly have been considering sending this thing back. We only bought it because we were offered 75% off - which is still too much. This was due to 3 returns on our old Ratio 8. The entire experience has been a money pit. We probably have over $1300 in a coffe maker….a pour over at that.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with our products. We understand how frustrating it must be to run into brewing issues with your new Ratio Eight Series 2 right out of the box, especially after multiple warranty repairs and replacements with your original Ratio Eight. We made several updates to the Series 2 based on feedback from our community, and we're excited for customers to experience those improvements. That said, we understand why these issues would make you hesitant. We take your feedback seriously, and this isn't the experience we want for our customers. We hope you'll give us the opportunity to help troubleshoot the issue and find a solution so you can get the most out of your new brewer. Our Customer Experience team will be in touch soon.

I had been using an OXO coffee machine, and was happy with it. The Ratio 8 Series 2 was purchased because of its plastic-free brewing, and because of its fine appearance. I hesitated because of the Ratio 8's substantial cost. After using the Ratio machine for a couple of weeks, I'm happy that I took the plunge. The machines thoughtful construction and simplicity of use justify the added cost. Always makes a great cup of coffee.

Hi Mark, I’ll likely start the process to return my machine. I moved the machine on the counter top and orange liquid came out the back. I’ve only had it for ~2 weeks and that seems a bit early for any build up so seems like something is just finicky.

I don’t see the value add from the 6 to the new eight Series 2. Besides the obvious design differences and the accessories like the new thermal carafe and metal brew basket, what makes it more than double the price of the six? I do not like now light it feels, it feels cheap for a $800 product. And it’s even more if you have to buy the thermal carafe. Maybe make the carafe included in the $800 ad a second option. It does make great coffee and I do think the water output is more constant t than the six. My six would not get a nice water to bean contact and I have to rotate it every time which was annoying. The eight series 2 was much better. If you make the eight using metal body and a glass water container, than I would think it’s worth the extra $$

The Ratio system is an excellent example of engineering meeting aesthetics. It manages to automate the pour-over process with impressive thermal stability and precise water distribution, which are vital for a consistent extraction. For those who appreciate professional-grade results without the manual variability, this machine is a standout addition to a high-performance kitchen.

This is my second coffee maker from Ratio and I absolutely love the machines. Beautiful design and consistently great coffee. My only frustration — spending nearly $1,000 on a coffee maker and not receiving any filters to use it on day one. The new machine uses different filters than my previous Ratio, so I couldn’t even brew coffee out of the box. Still a great product overall, but including a small starter pack of filters would make the experience feel much more premium. Especially when you sell a 100 for only $10

I'm obsessed with this pourover machine. It basically ruined getting coffee out for me because I prefer the taste of what I make at home. Super easy to use - my only complaint is that i have to get a specific carafe/water bottle to pour water into the narrow hole because the way it kind of slopes in there leads to spills if I use a regular pyrex pitcher or something similar. But one button, easy to clean. I got the stainless steel filter and ratio 8 steel dripper to sit on top of the thermal carafe. Love love love!
