When focusing on the idea of taking in more sugars or carbs (even natural ones found in fruits and vegetables), it’s a matter of balancing your macronutrients. On a juice cleanse, you won't be taking in the regular amount of fats and protein you typically would, and so this allows your body to process more carbs— especially without the fiber. The natural sugars in fresh, raw fruit and vegetable juices are accompanied with a very high nutrient and antioxidant content as well as naturally occurring compounds that slow the rate at which sugar enters the bloodstream, preventing blood sugar spikes associated with weight gain.
Weight loss is common on a juice cleanse as a result of two factors:
-The concentrated influx of nutrition. Often our bodies cling to fat when our diets lack adequate plant-based nutrition. Juice floods your body with the nutrition it craves and the enzymes it needs. Your body quickly recognizes that the famine is over and starts burning stored fat.
