“As typical with shelterlogic products having clear instruction isn’t a focus . It took me about 2 minutes putting the anchor in the ground that wasn’t bad but it is impossible to remove the rod after 60 minutes trying different approach the rod is still stocked in the anchor . The problem I believe is they put 2 useless plastic cap on the driving rod and I think now that I should have removed it because that is what prevent the rod to be removed . I am clueless of what I can do besides digging up the anchor .”
“I got four of these to put a car tent on a new asphalt driveway. After seeing how large the ends are, I didn't think you would be able to hammer, or sledgehammer, these through ~3" of asphalt. I was right, you cannot even get them to start to go though.. I used a couple of carbide tipped masonary drills to make a hole almost as large as the end (enlarging to about 1.5" wide where the cable is attached, plus a long 3/4" OD drill to drill about 13-14" deep. Even then it was hard to hammer through the asphalt and into the packed driveway.
The bar was mushroomed quite a bit after the 4th one. The last one hit a stone about 4" deep and I left this as is. I drove the other three down until about 8-10" of cable was left out(leave enough to wrap around the driving rod), and pulled up on them. Then poured Quickrete Anchoring mix into each hole and this dried quickly (mix 2-3 times the 1:5 mix they say to do, it will not mix at 1:5). After doing this, they seem solid.”
