Please know that fabric life is affected by the application, location, and the physical elements the shelter is exposed to. If you live in an area that gets more sun exposure than most of the cover, along with exposure to other elements such as strong winds and snow (if applicable), it can also affect longevity. We do offer replacement cover kits in Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Ultra-Duty material. The heavier materials have a longer warranty and life expectancy, which might better suit your needs. “I've been using the AutoShelter for about 8 years as a shed in place of a garage. I'm on my fourth cover for the shelter, they only average about 2 years of service in Wisconsin. I find them easy to install and they do provide reasonable protection to the bikes, lawnmower and snowblower, but they can only last 2 winters at best.
I find it best to replace them in the fall, after the summer sun and before the heavy winter snow.
I know there are covers designed for multi-year use, but they are excessively expensive and the standard cover could be more durable. #Sweeps.”

“While installing the replacement cover, two of the seams failed. Additional recently I noticed a tear in the fabric. Maybe this replacement cover was old stock and has dried out or maybe the quality of materials has been downgraded to a lessor quality. Very unhappy with this replacement cover. Pictures are available by request.”
