Since reading the all of the booklets I have become more aware of clothing selection in business and casual wear.

When I firsy heard about the new eBook that was published, I was so eagered to buy because this book has been as great help to me. It shows the illustrations from 1930s and 1940s, which are useful to me because I have an interesting style which I like to be smart or smart causal. I found ways to use the inspiration from the 30s and 40s fashion and they helped me how to combine colours on my smart clothing in my wardrobe. Now, my wardrobe is nearly completed, thanks to the advice and the information from Gentleman's Gazette, especially the eBook. Without it, my colour combination will be gravely erroneous and my clothing looks all odd. The only thing that I was hoping to have a hardback version of the Gentlemen of the Golden Age, but still nevertheless, eBook is great with me. Many thanks to the author who contributed his time to create the perfect eBook for anyone who needs a bit of guidance on how to wear and to combine colours. Thankyou!

1930’s is my favorite era for men’s fashion; I’m a nostalgia buff. The stars of this era (David Nevin, Cary Grant) really knew how to dress ; the color combinations, odd vest & sport coats combos, use of boutonnière’s. I have always aspired to look sharp as these classic stylists; it is truly a lost art. The book “Gentlemen of the Golden Age”, gave me useful information and style tips that I have since incorporated in daily office wear. The ultimate compliment I received recently was when a lady (30 ish) approached me and in a foreign language talking, the only thing I understood was “beautiful, beautiful” along with hand gestures to my clothing. I listened, smiled and said “thank you, thank you”. After she left I looked to a colleague standing next to me for some sort of translation (she went on for a while); she simply said “you have a fan”, I have never had a “Fan” before. What is old, is new again; thanks Rafael

A very good book! I loved the layout of it, and how it describes everything! I hope there will be an equivalent of it in the future, depicting formal day wear and formal evening wear, or possibly a book for each!

My first purchase from Gentlemen’s gazette was better than expected! The shipping was very expeditious, and the items were wrapped and packaged with care. I had a bit of a problem with an eBook, but a very nice young lady helped be out quickly and so now, everything is great. I thought the items were very high quality and I look forward to more purchases.

Gentlemen of The Golden Age is an interesting insight into a time filled with honour, style and firm handshakes. Today, many consider technology before dress but those who do take the time, command respect simply by their presence.

This isn't so much a review, it's more of a warning to those unfamiliar with how to view these ebooks. You need google chrome (safari never ended up working), and to download a PDF reader as well as the ebook when you get the link to work. Unfortunately I didn't realize that my trying to refresh and reload what I thought was a slow link was actually using up most of my remaining downloads. When I realized what was happening, I only had a couple downloads left. I emailed my concern and got an indirect response of an unlisted video on how to download these ebooks. I followed the steps, but used my main browser Safari, and not google chrome like he used in his demo. As a result, my last download did not load on safari to let me see the ebook, let alone download it. So I wasted $50 on an expired link. I have been really expanding my knowledge on menswear the past few months, and I thought that this would be a great avenue to explore my curiosities. Unfortunately I feel cheated, and dumb for not knowing how to do this from the get-go. Obviously I'm upset because I lost $50 and 170 pages of classic menswear illustrations, of which I would have loved to see and keep dear to me. I've downloaded other free ebooks from the site, so the plus side is that I know now how to properly access and retain those, if there is any silver lining in all of this. But I am not going to be spending money on these ebooks anytime soon. Which, again is unfortunate because this is a great amount of knowledge and classic menswear expertise, but I feel like there should have been more explanation going into getting these ebooks.
