I just recently purchased the Gentlemen's Gazettte Ebook entitled, "Gentlemen Of The Golden Age: Elegant Fashion Illustrations Of The 1930's." This is an excellent source of reference for any man who aspires to improve his appearance or someone that wishes to emulate the classic styles of the 1930's era. The text is packed with useful information on the styles presented and the history associated with the clothing. The illustrations were mainly taken from the publication Apparel Arts from the years 1933 & 1934. It also includes information on the different fabrics used in the construction of these garments. I highly recommend this useful Ebook for anyone who is interested in this particular era of clothing styles and fashion.

Previous to reading Gentlemen of the Golden Age by Sven Raphael Schneider my knowledge of menswear existed mostly from what I sought out on modern sites and pertained almost entirely to modern menswear trends. Since reading I have learned much more about the origin of these modern trends and significantly more on menswear as a whole. While the illustrations are somewhat dated, Schneider goes into great detail of how one can adapt the wardrobes to modern times. With this new knowledge I find myself much more aware of how I can avoid "fast fashion" and seek out pieces that are truly timeless. Overall it is an excellent read that I find myself continuously flipping through again and again.

Lots of ventage drawings and explanations provide clear examples on how to dress with vintage style and class that are still a part of modern standards. I have various books of dressing, but none quite like this one. I definitely recommend it.

I had no idea about the fashion during 1930. Now i know the possibility that it can be applied today is endless. Great book for fashion idea and very nice combination.

The Gentlemen Of The Golden Age book is a fun and easy read, and is well written too. The illustrations are fabulous and the imbedded links are marvelously convenient. Although it showcases style from the past, it serves to educate the reader on a lot of still valid style basics. Well worth it!

Hence I am interested in the old 30's pictures (first I have seen them in Alan Flusser books), I bought this book. I very much like the style of those days. Therefore I appreciate it that Raphael is providing his readers with this stuff. It is a beatiful, classic inspiration. Highly recommended!!

“Gentlemen Of The Golden Age: Elegant Fashion Illustrations of the 1930’s” made a varsity addition to my library, especially on account of its lavish, extravagant illustrations. This collection captures and conveys the concepts, principles and practices of the gentlemanly art of dressing well and, with elegant simplicity, tastefully flaunting one’s sartorial “style,” itself an integral ingredient in one’s rhetorical signature, in a visually stunning manner. This investment of mine is enormously magnified, as each picture is worth at least one thousand words as it renders the sartorial splendor of that golden era in “high relief” in my ledger. It is a treasure chest of ideas and examples enriching my sartorial endowment and enhancing my wealth commensurately. Gregory Barros
