Eterra Razor Skid Steer Sickle Bar Mower Description
The Eterra Skid Steer Sickle Bar Mower is built to handle tough cutting jobs in ditches, along fence lines, berms, and hedges. With an adjustable cutting angle from 110 degrees upward to 45 degrees downward, it can cut in hard-to-reach places and uneven terrain. When paired with your skid steer arms, it gives up to 17 feet of reach and can cut through vegetation up to 2 inches thick, making it perfect for clearing overgrown areas quickly. The break-away bar protects the mower from damage if it hits rocks, fence posts, or other obstacles, saving you on repair costs. Its non-clogging sickle design keeps the mower running smoothly, even in thick or dense vegetation, reducing downtime. This mower also doesn’t throw debris, making it safer to use around people and in residential areas. It’s low-maintenance and simple to operate, so you can focus on getting the job done without unnecessary hassle.
To operate this cutter at an optimal performance, you need to run it at a hydraulic flow rate of 15 GPM - 20 GPM @ 3000 PSI Rated. If your machine flow is higher, utilize your endcap control to keep your flow below 20 GPM. I've had mine for about 4 years and really like. It cuts much larger stuff than I had pictured. Blades are super easy to change if one breaks. My only complaint is not being able to raise and lower the bar while cutting to better follow the contour of the ground. It's a slow process of you're transitioning from flat to a bank back and forth a lot. A small electric jack with self contained fluid similar to those on a snow only it wouldn't have to be that big. I have cut thousands of baseball bat size limbs 16-17' in the air over road ways as well. Probably about 200 hrs of use and maybe only 12-13 broken blades. Really durable

I have not assembled the unit yet because the skid steer is at cabin 330 miles away , I am a tad bit concerned about the bar that holds the cutters because when I received it the bar was bent . The shipper noted it and I am hoping it will straighten up when I assemble it. Looks like a quality unit !

We purchased the 7' sickle mower for our CAT 246B. It required professional help to assemble the unit when it arrived. It did not fit our particular application, so we re-hired the professional to dismantle the unit for return. The thing we feel that every buyer should know is that this company is 100% legitimate. They not only gave us a 100% refund, but they paid the shipping both ways...no questions asked. We would recommend this unit, but it needs updating on the user manual and the unit should be shipped "ready to use". It makes it more cumbersome to ship, but with the blade up and protected, it should not be a problem. Craig is an excellent salesman and was very helpful throughout the entire process. Austin is probably not paid enough, as his mannerism's were also exceptional. Response from SSS: Customer comments are noted. We always stand behind our equipment. It does not do anyone good if you buy something that will not work for your situation. The manual is being updated with better installation instructions. It is impossible to ship this unit fully assembled because the blade points upward and will not fit in a truck. If we could ship it assembled, we would. It normally takes our customers 30 - 60 minutes to assemble with no help. We are available by telephone 24/7 to help you with any questions. Our goal is 100% satisfaction and it is proven in this case.

Delivery: Ordered on Tuesday, delivered on Thursday. Amazingly fast. Assembly: The instruction manual could use better pictures. Assembly was not too difficult, however. The hydraulics were assembled at the factory. Two fittings were very loose and leaked oil when the machine was initially operated. Had to tighten them. Operations: When the bar was lowered to the ground to cut weeds and brush, visibility was terrible. The lift arms on the skid loader entirely blocked the view of the cutter bar. I was using a Kubota 90 SLV. Perhaps a different make/model of skid loader would provide better visibility. Otherwise the bar needs to be further ahead or further back in order to see it. I purchased the machine primarily for cutting overhanging limbs along trails and roadways. With the sickle bar vertical, visibility is much better. Still not great. Fortunately, it did a pretty good job of cleanly clipping off limbs with only two minor issues. Occasionally, a limb would be angled such that it did not want to feed well into the sickle bar. Also, clipped limbs would sometimes collect on top of the machine immediately in front of the skid loader. Had to stop and remove them by hand occasionally. Overall: The machine appears to be reasonably well engineered and constructed. It does a good job of cutting overhanging limbs much, much faster than using a lopper or chain saw. Because of poor visibility to the bar, I could not recommend it for use mowing anything with the bar in the normal horizontal position on the ground.

I purchased my Skid-Sickle a few months ago for grounds maintenance at our 33 acre marina (www.cruiserhaven.com) on the San Joaquin Delta in Northern California. We purchased the marina almost 1 year ago and subsequently began to research what grounds equipment we needed. We maintain approximately 1 mile of the levy road within the marina. I trimmed about 20+ years of overgrowth brush along about 1 mile of our levy road in about 30 to 45 minutes (I was going slowly for the larger branches ~ stepping back to look at the results ~ I couldnt stop smiling!). This machine has performed beyond our expectations, is extremely durable and doesnt throw any material at all (nice when people, animals and parked cars are nearby). The safety break away was a big concern for me due to the rough terrain and 30 to 35 degree sloped hillside of the levy at our marina. The safety release engages very quickly, smoothly and effectively whenever the sickle hits anything it cant cut through or if it runs aground (either of these incidences occurred less often than I had anticipated). The large teeth are well made, serrated and are able to cut limbs to about 2-1/2 with ease (they also gave me extra teeth with the unit). I especially like the ability to trim the underside of overhanging trees by simply raising the sickle up in a horizontal position; this added additional shaded parking as well as a nice detail to the overall appearance of our marina. The follow up and assistance after the sale has been nothing short of exemplary by everyone at Skid Steer Solutions. The staff has offered very professional advice and technical assistance from my first dealings with Skid Steer Solutions. Hats off to you guys and to the inventor of this amazing new device!
