Eterra Razor Skid Steer Sickle Bar Mower Description
The Eterra Skid Steer Sickle Bar Mower is built to handle tough cutting jobs in ditches, along fence lines, berms, and hedges. With an adjustable cutting angle from 110 degrees upward to 45 degrees downward, it can cut in hard-to-reach places and uneven terrain. When paired with your skid steer arms, it gives up to 17 feet of reach and can cut through vegetation up to 2 inches thick, making it perfect for clearing overgrown areas quickly. The break-away bar protects the mower from damage if it hits rocks, fence posts, or other obstacles, saving you on repair costs. Its non-clogging sickle design keeps the mower running smoothly, even in thick or dense vegetation, reducing downtime. This mower also doesn’t throw debris, making it safer to use around people and in residential areas. It’s low-maintenance and simple to operate, so you can focus on getting the job done without unnecessary hassle.
To operate this cutter at an optimal performance, you need to run it at a hydraulic flow rate of 15 GPM - 20 GPM @ 3000 PSI Rated. If your machine flow is higher, utilize your endcap control to keep your flow below 20 GPM. Great product, well built and great design. Whoever designed this was a actual user!!!!!, Does everything I expected and better than I had hoped. It trimmed the road side , the ditch and the roads trees with ease. We did in one day what use to take us a week with chainsaws and brush saws. I would be happy to discuss this with anyone thinking of buying one.

I have over 100 acres of wooded land with many trails. Previous attempts to maintain these trails by hand just to keep them passable were at best laughable, sometimes painful and ultimately futile. Not anymore. An unusable, overgrown trail is immediately opened up with a single pass on each side. I simply follow behind with my bush hog and mulch up the trimmings. Very nice. This trimmer will cut 2" pine limbs with ease. I'm extremely pleased with the performance and look forward to enjoying the extra time this tool has freed up for me.

I stewed over purchasing this attachment for more than a year. So often a lot of company money goes into the design of a good idea but the actual product is ineffective. suddenly you have an $8000 piece of junk. I am happy to say that this attachment is outstanding. Let me expand. First I use it on a Kubota svl90. you will need to run this machine at just above idle so as not to exceed it's flow rate. Another poster with a Kubota wrote that he could not see the blade in the horizontal position and that is true. Seems to me this would be an issue on any skid steer as the arms block the view to the right side. I use it in the vertical position primarily and I can see it quite well. If you plan to use it extensively at ground level in the horizontal position you will need to attach a fiberglass stick with a flag to the end of the blade to assist seeing it. Secondly, I have 7 miles of trails on my land that all have substantial growth of limbs into the trails. IT IS HEAVILY LIMBED WITH A MIX OF HARD WOOD OAK SPECIES AND SOFT YOPON AND SIMILAR WEED TREES. I trimmed both sides (14 miles) in 2 days. Unfathomable with any other tool. At the end of day one I replaced about half the teeth which is easy to do, then replaced the other half after day 2. Teeth are about $2 each. It really will cut a 2 inch hardwood branch with ease so long as you attack the branch at the proper angle and feed it slowly. You will learn this in the first hour of operation. Occasionally, you will need to back up a few times to deal with a difficult branch angle. You are not going to continually hang it up and bind the blade. I don't think I got out of the cab for any reason in the 2 full days of cutting. I also pruned the low lying branches on the 30 or so oak trees that are in a clear field. this makes the trees look better and gets branches out of your face when bush hogging. After clearing the trail sides I run over the fallen limbs with a bush hog. Now we can ride the dirt bikes and ATV's thru the trails without getting face slapped repeatedly. I have a forestry mulcher as well and it simply cannot address the sides of the trails. Thirdly, the unit appears quite robust and well made. It did spring a hydraulic leak in the junction box but after tightening the hose I think it has stopped. I think the electrical control wire is very poorly protected and if you will need to use it in an application such as mine you need to use monster tape liberally to protect it from snags that will shut you down. With the tape, I had no problems. I would say that my biggest complaint is that the frame gets repeatedly smacked by the spring arm and seriously gouged by frame repeatedly. Eterra puts a rubber wrap around the frame to address this issue but it is inadequate and will tear off in the first day of use. In summary I feel this tool is excellent and trims branches with less energy, no flying debri, and a cleaner look than the bush hog on a stick concept.

We use the "skid-sickle" to cut over hanging branches on our snowmobile trails. It works fantastic!! Saving a lot of man hours and sore arms from cutting by hand. It will cut 2 inch oak, maple, pine, birch and popple branches with ease. Thanks for a great product. Trail Boss for the New-Northern snowmobile club

I have used the sickle bar mower for two years cutting brush and small trees up to 2 + " in diameter on our snowmobile trails. It works wonderful. Cuts in fifteen minutes what four men cut in two hours and no one is tired. A few cutters break once in awhile but that is usually the operator's fault raising the bar up while it is cutting a 2" sapling. New cutters are only 10 for $5.00 so that is pretty cheap for what the mower does. I have written reviews last year (2012) and the mower is still number one in my book after two years of use. If you want more user information how it works call me at 715-356-6598 and I will be glad to talk to you how it works.
