“We decided to invest in a Slumberpod after borrowing one from a friend. It is a game changer! We just did a month-long road trip with my one-year old son and it makes traveling with a little one so much easier! We didn't have to worry about covering windows or stashing our son away in a bedroom closet, or having to pay for accommodations with an extra bedroom. Set up and take down is super easy, and it rolls up into a small bag that is compact and transportable. The fan was one feature that I really appreciated in the end. We were traveling during a heat wave and some of our accommodations didn't have AC. Having the fan made me feel more at ease about my son not overheating. One minor issue is that the Slumberpod has a small pocket for cameras that has a plastic window. Even though it the pocket is designed for camera-use, ours would get very hot against the plastic (we have a Nanit camera that has a temperature monitor). We were able to get around this using a small mesh window at the top of the Slumberpod instead. Sometimes the mesh made it hard to see unless the camera was perfectly placed but it did the trick. But again, this is a very minor thing - overall the Slumberpod is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone!”
Thank you for investing in your own, Adrienne! We're so happy to hear you all are loving it! Please note that the monitor would read the inside of the pouch temperature and not inside the SlumberPod. Be sure you're reading your baby monitor warning labels and instruction manuals. We do know that most all monitors go through extensive safety testing to shut down should temperatures rise to levels that are unsafe. Also SlumberPod is tested and approved for indoor climate controlled areas only.
“I have LOVED my Slumberpod. I travelled back to back weeks with my 7 month old son, and he slept like a dream! Even slept in a few days on the road. I actually think he might sleep better in his Slumberpod than at home! I think I expected it to be 100% blackout based on reviews, but just for full transparency (no pun intended) I would say it’s like, 95% blackout. I tested it in daylight and my baby slept great. I highly recommend.”
“The Slumberpod is the answer to exactly what I was looking for! A safe, blackout, portable sleep option for my baby. She has always been a great sleeper, but the Slumberpod has made traveling so much easier! I highly recommend this product. It is lightweight and easy to set up over baby's pack n play. Practice with it at home first so your baby gets used to it. Also, I know this product is not meant to be used outside, but I thought I'd share that it even worked great while camping. Our baby slept SO WELL in it.”
“We love the slumber pod! It has made sleeping in new places a breeze! My only complaints are the fan pocket and camera pocket - neither are very functional without modifications. But all around a good product and great quality!”
“We were lucky enough to catch one of these in the July restock. We had previously taken our then-eight-month-old daughter on a long trip and sleep had been a catastrophe - refusing to nap, waking up every hour or so at night, and having a hard time going back to sleep after night wakings. At home, she will sleep from 7p to around 7:15a with one wake-up to nurse around 6a. We had a two-week trip planned across several states and many housing situations, and were desperate. What I can say, after the trip, is that she napped beautifully for the entire trip, and her night sleep was substantively better, though still nothing like home. At home she puts herself to sleep every night, and whereas she could not manage that essentially at all on the pre-slumberpod trip, she managed it more than half the time on the two-week slumberpod trip. She still had multiple night wakings with the slumberpod, but slept in 3+ hour chunks most nights and had a few nights where she slept right through the night like at home. So while the slumberpod certainly didn't magically make her sleep like she was at home, it did make the trip manageable and enjoyable, whereas the pre-slumberpod trip was impossible. In retrospect, being quite helpful but not magic makes a lot of sense. After all, when she does wake up at night she came out of the slumberpod to nurse but was then in an unfamiliar stimulating environment. Maybe SlumberPod's next product can be nested slumberpods so that when baby comes out of her sleep slumberpod to nurse she finds herself in a still-pitch-black larger nursing slumberpod that contains the sleeping one. Additionally, lots of new places and new people is super activating, and a bit more neediness at night is sensible. TL;DR: depending on the constitution of your infant, the slumberpod may not make you sleep like you're at home, but it likely will get you *enough* sleep to be able to actually enjoy your vacation. 4.5/5 stars.”
