“Covid woes aside something has changed at Smith. The quality of the products has taken a turn for the worse. I understand the need to make things light, but there should not be any performance or durability trade offs unless it is clearly stated in the product description. The retaining strap on the helmets is too thin and brittle and the visor broke off immediately. These to me indications that the helmets have sub-par material and I am not risking my safety with such a product.
Furthermore, the customer service I received when trying to warranty my broken helmet and rectify incorrect orders was ridiculous. You clearly have good, well intentioned people working at Smith (hats of to Sheri) but you are not giving them the tools to help the customer. Whatever you use for your customer relations software you should immediately replace. The CS people had a very difficult time locating order specifics, making changes or doing anything to actually help the customer. Orders would not show up on my account and refunds to my credit card took an abnormal amount of time.
You have lost a longtime customer, unfortunately. No response necessary.”

Was trying to use a voucher with my purchase. The voucher code didn't work in the "discount" code field so I clicked continue. That completed the purchase so I reached out and my ticket was immediately closed. So I reopened and was told I needed to mail back the product.
I provided the voucher code but nobody even told me if it still works.
I have the code because rubber fell off the Smith sunglasses I own.
Why should I have to pay shipping and mail back a product just to get my voucher honored?
It should be as easy as refunding the purchase and charging it again with the code applied. What difference does it make if the helmet is physically mailed back? Seems like a waste of time and money to do that.”

“I had the original Forefront, however, a crash (head is ok) and years of use forced me to upgrade to the Forefront 2. This helmet is better than the original with more vents and better features including the 3-position visor. Very happy with this helmet. It is noticeably cooler than original because of the nee vents. Very stoked on this helmet!”

“Great fit, much needed updates on the hardware, lightweight, awesome colors to choose from. In fact, I went on a group ride with some work colleagues I hadn't seen in months, we had 9 ppl in the ride and 3 of us had the exact same color of Forefront 2, so maybe something to be aware of if purchasing the Matte Mystic Green/Black!”

“This has been a great helmet. It is really light and well ventilated. I upgraded from an older specialized helmet which was really good but this fits so much better everywhere, there appears to be no weight or ventilation penalty and I really like the fit and the built-in visor.
Highly recommend”
