“The fit is very comfortable without any sloppy side to side movement, even while wearing a helmet light (which I have experienced with other helmets. The Forefront 2 is very lightweight and I like the mount for a light. Be aware that you will need to purchase a separate mount from Smith if you plan to use a helmet light. I like the buckle and adjustment dial. Great helmet!”
“Having tried on last years Forefront2 locally, I then ordered online as I wanted one of the new colours. The helmet strap design has been changed this year, out of the box the strap sat too far back under my chin and was choking me.
The part of the strap that attaches to the front and back of the helmet is now a single piece and separate to the part that goes under the chin. Adjusting this part of the strap through the new Y piece is extremely difficult, I had to use a metal skewer to feed the strap through. If you make one piece longer the other gets shorter. I did eventually manage to make it work for me with a lot of messing about.
The flip up clip on the previous version was much easier to adjust and allowed you to adjust the lengths of the 2 parts individually.
Now I have it adjusted the strap the helmet is great, I forget I am wearing it and it looks great!
I haven't ridden in it on a hot day yet, I feel it may breath a little less well than my previous helmet but there's decent airflow.”
