I am more than happy with the kitana. A more snug fitting scabbard wouldve been nice

I was hesitant to try ordering a custom katana at first but I am mindblown. Several years ago, I tried ordering a custom katana and was quoted about 12-14k with an estimated waiting period of about 6 to 8 months. My order with Swordis ended up being about 7.2k, all with the features I wanted, no holding back. Customer support (Vali) was a joy to work with, spending a lot of time getting my order right and updating me regularly. Thank you for making my dream a reality.

I am in awe of the simplicity of ordering a custom made katana. I went for a standard tamahagane blade but you get to choose everything from the length of the blade, blade construction, blade shape, and so much more. Each option also comes with a short description of what it means and possibly how long it takes if you choose it. Be careful when choosing because everything adds up! Mine came up to about 3200 but it was definitely worth it!

After a half a dozen Katana from ShadowDancer, the fit and finish is still impressive! Got my eye on another one already...

This is easily one of the most beautiful swords I own. It is perfect to every specification. The ito is tight and the blade sings. It's an absolute stunner and weighs practically nothing. On the surface it exceeds all expectations and I would highly recommend a sword like this. HOWEVER - For the amount of attention to detail given to this wonderful piece I just can't trust that the steel is what they say it is. Given the recent discovery Shadow Dancer is openly lying about the steel they are using, I can't say with confidence this this is a 1095 blade. I trust in Swordis as a company and they have wonderful customer service. I will be ordering from Swordis again, but I will not be ordering anything from Shadown Dancer until thier metals are varified.

I'm new to owning katanas so really don't have much in my experience to compare this katana to. Having said that, I'm really happy with the custom katana that I purchased from ShadowDancer. I wanted a katana with a water theme (just 'cuz), and though katanas with that theme are fairly common (I've seen many online from different companies) there were always elements to them that rubbed me the wrong way. So going the custom route allowed me to get pretty much exactly what I wanted. I went with S5 steel because, being relatively new, I wanted something that was durable. I will say that with the S5 steel I chose to have an etched hamon ('cuz generally hamon look cool), but after I made the purchase I kinda regretted it as I know etched hamon generally don't look all that good. But how ShadowDancer handled the etched hamon I think looks fantastic. Much better than I thought it could be. Really happy with the results of their work. Again, can't compare it to other katanas out there, but for me, this it very much the sword I wanted. Will note, pics I uploaded for this review are the ones ShadowDancer took before they sent the katana to me, not ones I took. They just took much better pictures of the katana than I could. But that's my katana and I'm very happy with it.
