How's the Blade?
How are the Handle and Fittings?
Of course with anything that is being custom made, it's going to take longer to get than something that's already built and ready to order. This sword was definitely well worth the wait! Got exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with the results. The Tsuka is so comfortable! Perfect dimensions for me (I went with the Rikko design at 12"), Ito is very tight (Hishigami highly reccommended), and overall, all the fittings are flawless! It draws and sheths so smoothly! Haven't had a chance to cut with it yet, so can't comment regarding that, but I'm sure I won't be dissappointed. The sword is lighter than I was maybe expecting -but in a good way! I'm sure the slim profile of the Saya is partially responsible for that -and that is a feature that I really like! Overall, this is a great sword and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Swordis!

The handle is built solid, and looks like a work of art just by itself. I like the unique fitting options shadow dancer offers, and love how they turned out on this sword. The smiths did an amazing job with the clay tempered blade of this length of 35," especially with the weight and balance. The sword feels ligher and more manuverable than you would expect for the length and having no blade fuller. The entire sword is easy to dissasemble for any maintinence and re-tightening work, which I appriciate. The only critique I have is the sharpness. At this pricepoint, I would have liked the blade to be a bit sharper, as it's not mch better than swords way below this level of quality, and there is a dull spot at the base of the kissaki tip. The time to completion took about 6.5 months for the options and features I chose, which I believe is reasonable, just keep that in mind if you plan on ordering something similar. Overall, this is some amazing craftsmanship that I can recomend to anyone wanting a unique, and well build Japanese sword.

How are the Handle and Fittings?
I loved the sword, it’s absolutely beautiful. There is one problem though. I spent almost $600 and while almost every part of the sword is done greatly, the saya came bent and twisted. And I understand this may have been from shipping but if that’s the case then the swords should be protected more in shipping. The bend in the sheathe has caused a bend in the blade as well. At first customer service was great but there was a very fast denial of liability, almost to a defensive point. And then as days went by I finally came down the the smallest of agreements, No refund and just send me a new sheathe that is straight and not crooked. It seemed that this was agreed upon but now it has been almost a week and I have heard nothing back. I’m kind of disappointed. The company offers great customization and a very decent quality sword. But the quality control and or customer service seems to lack a bit and does not seem to be consistent. I know of a YouTuber who I speak with personally who reviews these swords and had an issue with theirs as well and informed me that there customer service experience was fast and not only did they get to keep the bad sword but they sent them an entirely new one free of charge. I only wish for the same level of service. Especially after giving half a paycheck for a blade.

Blade is good. Tsukamaki is okay. Saya does rattle a little maybe due to thin blade. Koshira is a little off center. Sword does handle very well.

Since this is my first order from Swordis, I went with the most basic customizable options without any upgrades. Everything is great but I would think that a basic hamon shouldn't cost an extra 50?
