“our host Josh couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. In addition to setting up our tent prior to our arrival and ferrying our bags to the campsite on his tractor, he also showed us around the farm, home to 60 plus chickens, goats, sheep and turkeys. We even brought home some seriously farm fresh eggs.”
“We had an amazing time camping at Little Woods Farm. Josh was very accommodating with our late night arrival, helping us get our gear to the site and get a fire started. The site itself is in a great secluded area with a beautiful view of the valley. However, it was only a 7-10 minute walk back to the barn area where they have an honors store set up. We enjoyed some farm fresh eggs, and a great cut of steak from the honors store and left behind some pasta, canned items, and water. It was also nice to be able to put our perishable items in the refrigerator in the barn instead of bringing a large cooler of ice.
Another huge perk was the wood burning stove! It was amazing during the chilly nights and kept the tent very toasty. We ended up not leaving the site for the 3 days we spent there because it was so relaxing and peaceful.
Josh was very communicative and responded if we needed something or had any questions throughout the weekend.
I highly recommend this site and cannot wait to go back next season!”
“What a fun stay! Josh, Patrice, and their children were so welcoming and helpful. We were welcomed to the farm by chickens, turkeys and two kittens who were our guides for the stay. Every detail was as advertised and better! The tent itself was cozy and thoughtfully decorated, including a wood stove for colder nights. Highly recommend and plan to return!”
“First time Tentrr user! I chose this with my children (4 and 6) in mind and boy was i right. While it would also suit a couple looking for a romantic weekend away, it is particularly suited for families; my children and I were welcomed with open arms by the host and their lovely children, as well as their animals: goats, sheep, chickens, dogs, cats. All the animals are brought up in the best possible conditions, and are very tame, and were such a delight for my urban boys to make friends with, pet and feed! The tent itself is entirely secluded through a forest, which can be driven to in an SUV, or is a 5 minute walk (host lent us a transport wagon to pull for our things). Lovely views. Nothing was too much trouble to help us during our stay, from recommending good hikes, providing eggs from the chickens in the honour store in the barn, lending us a few things we had forgotten, and a special bonus: the farm owners specialise in high-end local meat, so don't forget to advance request and purchase a few choice steaks if you are in the mood to grill! We had a great time and will return for sure. There was also a hot air balloon festival going on nearby which was good additional entertainment. My only comment is that Tentrr sent info saying that a farmer's market was going on in nearby Callicoon on the Saturday, so we came ready to buy local produce there, but in fact it was on Sunday. There are supermkarets nearby however, and the host directed us to an amazing farm store which while a bit of a drive was well-worth it for the delicious things and wide range, too. We stocked up for taking home! Thank you to Tentrr and to our host for making this a great trip.”
“The hosts go above and beyond the already generous amenities that Tentrr offers. Like previous reviewers, we also enjoyed the products that their farm offers--not to mention the kind people and adorable animals. We only wish we could have stayed longer.”
“We cannot speak highly enough of this amazing family and lovely camping spot. We spent a wonderful and peaceful night here in the woods, overlooking the valley. Josh and Patrice are the most welcoming family and a joy to know. They have an honor store, with fresh produce from their garden, eggs and plenty of other goodies. They provided sheets and blankets and even brought down a small bed for our child. They have a wonderful puppy and three kittens, two of whom spent the night in our tent. This is a terrific spot and we highly recommend it.”
“Great getaway! Can't say enough good things about this site, and its campkeepers. The location was beautiful and secluded, even though it was just a short walk from where we parked. The tent was furnished with great care, and was comfortable. Our hosts had an "honors market" in the barn — we made use of some of the olive oil, the farm fresh eggs, and one can of beer (and left our marshmallows in kind) — that went above and beyond what we expected; they even baked some brownies for us. The farm in which the tent is situated is itself a wonderful place to visit. Catskills must-sees, like Bethel Woods and Skinner Falls, are pretty close, too. Thank you for the great stay!”
“Little Woods Farm campsite was charming and secluded. The site is about 5 minutes in from the entrance of the farm, with great views. The hosts were amazingly gracious, and friendly. They provided us with everything we needed for a good stay.
We had 8 people, and they put up a large extra tent for us to stay in. They also had a fridge in the barn we could store our food. The farm animals were very nice as well.
I would recommend this campsite to anyone and everyone!”
