Our stay at Lava Rock was wonderful! Jim and Patty couldn't have been more thoughtful or more accommodating, they were the finest of hosts and made our stay there even more enjoyable. Thank you so much for everything!

This is a little slice of heaven on Earth! For those of you who enjoy privacy and beautiful views this just may be what you've been looking for! The property where the campsite is located is very private and beautiful with a great man-made spring fed pond for swimming & cooling off, beautiful lawns and lovely mountain views. The campsite sits just inside the tree line, giving you total privacy and the large tent, sitting on a platform and equipped with a small wood burning stove and a solid full size wooden bunk bed with air mattresses, was pristine. Fire pit, lg. outside table and bedside tables and camp toilet give you everything you need. Just bring your bedding & food & you're all set. Patty & Jim were very good hosts. They introduced themselves & were available for us if we needed them, but they left us on our own to enjoy their pond and beautiful property. It was as if we were the only people there. We highly recommend and we will camp here again in the future.

Jim & Patty have created a very special place! We spent a night with our 2 boys & dog. There is plenty of hiking right from the site. Jim marked the trails very well. We did Ball mountain that boasted great views of the Lakes and we picked lots of yummy blueberries. The mountain fed pond is amazing!! We all enjoyed splashing around. The camp site is tucked in the woods and is private and peaceful. Our boys set up the 5 person dome tent out in the field. They had a blast!! The tent was a easy set up...about 10 minutes. We wish we could have stayed for a few more days it was so relaxing there!

This place is AMAZING. Not only can you hike literally from the tent on a few trails (we did Black Snout), but there is a pond on the property that is so refreshing post hike. Met Patty briefly and she was lovely. We had all the supplies we needed in the tent (bring your own bedding!) including enough fire wood for 1 night and morning's fire to cook. The tent itself is in a nice wooded area right off the field. It rained a bit the night we were there, but we didn't get soaked with all the tree cover. I would 100% stay here again. Amazing weekend!
