“We enjoyed our first Tentrr experience so much! David's site is beautiful, well thought out, private and well maintained. David met us when we first arrived and showed us the site and grounds. He was very pleasant and even checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The hike to Stairway Lake is close by. The lake is quiet and private. There was also a nice spot with an amazing view to have lunch. The site itself has so many areas to explore. The creek and waterfalls are charming. My dog had a blast!”
“Our weekend here was amazing. My husband and I will definitely be back. Our host was phenomenal! He is so kind with a great heart. We found out that when you rent his site proceeds go to the SPCA. The location is absolutely beautiful. We were totally relaxed and felt one with nature. We loved the privacy. It was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the creek. I enjoyed catching and releasing frogs, toads and salamanders. Adam enjoyed his morning jump into the creek. So many beautiful things to take pictures of. When you are here you just do not want to leave. David is such an amazing host. He goes the extra mile to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. It shows in the extra things he does. For example, in the tent he has extra flashlight/lantern, lighters, water to drink, citronella and many other things to make your stay comfortable. We were fortunate to meet some of his family visiting, which are just as wonderful as David and his cute dogs as well. I can just keep going, but I won't you'll just have to experience it yourself. We hope to make it back in the fall. Thank you David for sharing this special place with Adam and I.”
“We had a great time here! The campsite is a few feet off a quiet mountain road and it feels completely secluded in the wilderness. David was really great - met us on our first night, showed us everything, and let us know about all sorts of things to do nearby.
The creek is right next to the campsite and the rushing water was a great sound backdrop to our whole experience. Our dog had a fantastic time running around both the campsite and the in the creek itself. We took a brief few minute drive over to a nearby trail out to Stairway Lake, which David recommended, and that was a fantastic time too! Highly recommend Stairway Lake - the hike there is fun and the lake is really gorgeously set on top of the mountain.
All in all we had an excellent time and I would go again!”
“Our family had an amazing time at Barkley’s Resort! The property is beautiful and even has a private waterfall.
David was very knowledgeable and thoughtful with accommodations. We had plenty of firewood, fire started, citronella and seating; there’s even a hose with potable water and an outhouse which made our trip even easier.
Everyone including young kids and our dog had a great time exploring the property and playing in the creek. Our kids have already asked us to back again soon!”
“Awesome 2 nights at Barkley's Resort. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time. The creek by the campsite was so pretty and the sound was soothing at night while falling asleep. The outdoor "shower" was great and much needed after manning the campfire. The little waterfall on site was pretty and a perfect spot to fish or take a swim. David was hospitable and showed around his beautiful land when we first arrived. He even added extras such as citronella candles and tiki torches that helped me out with mosquitoes. It's a beautiful, well maintained piece of paradise. I was a little concerned about my trip as it was my first time camping through Tentrr but Barkley's Resort was just amazing that we will go back!”
“This campsite is wonderful. David went way beyond the basic tentrr requirements and was a wonderful host. He showed us around even when our travel plans were delayed. He had the main tent located fantastically and had a whole bunch of extras on the site that just made it so easy. He also pointed out a beautiful hike. There’s a stream and waterfall on his property and sleeping by it was such a pleasure. This was our first tentrr but I can’t imagine another site exceeding this in terms of beauty and the hospitality David showed us. We will definitely go back.”
