“Moosetrax is the perfect place for people travelling with dogs and for those who love nature and the outdoors. John and Bonnie were friendly and helpful and provide absolutely everything you could possibly need during your stay. We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely recommend staying here!”
“Beautiful site. The pictures really don’t do it justice of just how gorgeous the river is. Site had everything you need and John couldn’t have been more accommodating. Can’t recommend enough!”
“The area is picturesque and worth the drive. John and Bonnie are wonderful hosts. We spent time lounging by the river and hiking local trails. We would definately come here again.”
“We had the best experience camping at Moosetrax! The grounds are stunning and we spent the days laying out on the rocks relaxing. The campsite has an outhouse, sunshower, fresh water well, and gas 2 burner stove top. The shed on site was perfect for storing our food! We visited the waterfall nearby and will definitely be back!”
“Just completed 5 days at Moosetax. Loved the riverfront location. Campsite had everything you would need except the tent. Great outdoor bath tub and shower! Outhouse was exceptional as far as outhouses go. If you go, make sure you cross the river and hike up to Agar falls which is an easy mile or so. Also go down river. Its a little bit of a hike but the river below the camp site was out of this world. Overall great site, we'll be back.”
“Word of caution: Although the property owners, John and Bonnie were generous and accommodating hosts, John is a self-described American Civil War “historian” who chooses to “honor all those that died for the just cause that they believed in” by flying a full-sized Confederate flag off the back of their home. In his defense, he argues, “many people use this symbol for the wrong reasons which I do not agree with and its meaning has been misused.”
According to Ta-Nehisi Coates, “The Confederate flag is directly tied to the Confederate cause, and the Confederate cause was white supremacy. This claim is not the result of revisionism. It does not require reading between the lines. It is the plain meaning of the words of those who bore the Confederate flag across history.”
His article contains a litany of quotes by Confederate leaders, revealing an unequivocal commitment to white supremacy and a society based on slave labor. Read it for yourself here: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/06/what-this-cruel-war-was-over/396482/
It’s 2020, John & Bonnie. Take that flag down and let your campers use it for kindling.”
“My husband and I just spent 3 amazing days at Moosetrax camp grounds. The location is incredible, right on the Moose river. We spent much time lazily soaking in water holes amid boulders with water rushing down, admiring the landscape, nature and the occasional kayakers. We cooked our meals on the perfect little stove and sat by the fire pit at night staring at the stars. We set our tent on the platform and used the little cabin to store our food, clothes and material. One could almost forget about the real world in the days of
Covid-19.”
