Kanbara “Bride of the Fox” Reviews

Crisp and refreshing. Not too sweet. Well-balanced. If clarity had a flavor and mouth feel, it might be this. I served it with honey walnut shrimp and it was a hit with my dinner guests.

I found this one to be exceptionally harsh and a very strong alcoholic taste that cut through any flavor it may have. Although new to sake I had 11 other bottles to compare this to and it was the least enjoyable. I had the product served on the cooler side of the recommendation.

This was pleasantly crisp and paired well with a buttery shellfish stew. The bite of the alcohol was just a tad too strong for my tastes, though. It risked overpowering the finer flavors of this sake.

Rich and dry taste that pairs well with savory food. I find it a bit too alcoholic at the end for my taste.

Wow, this is a new favorite for me! As crisp as biting into an apple, with a gentle sweetness and refreshing finish. As easy to drink as water. It's lovely!

I first tried this sake cold and on its own. I found it to have a very pleasant initial taste but with a somewhat metallic after taste that I did not enjoy. I tried a second tasting another day when it was at room temperature and found I had the same experience. When I served it with a hardy meal (sake served at room temperature) it really held its own and is a wonderful sake. I I think that sake lovers would enjoy this shared with friends around the dinner table.
