“The good: Wood and finishing is of good quality. Well proportioned aesthetics. Good value for money. Great phone and email service -friendly and helpful. Helpful delivery driver. The bad: Door height -why include the frame in the description is beyond me. I bought this on the understanding it was 1.88m, it wasn't. At 1.78m I have regularly banged my head of the doorway, I'm 1.87m tall. The roof tongue + groove is better quality than the flooring! I think this is a UK sourcing issue. The screws that hold the eaves boards in are too long and will put holes in the felt shingles you put all day taking care over. OK, cut wood has a tolerance that doesn't make it a precision material and it will change dimensions over time however there is a fundamental flaw in this design around the door + window wall section. The heights of the wall logs are dictated by cuts, if they are out by even 0.5mm then over 10~11 logs you get a discrepancy when compared to the logs with no cuts that slot in the door + window section. No matter how well fitting etc. the corners are you can expect a fair bit of floppiness at the door hinge and window frame area. Being horizontal or not you're looking at a tolerance stack up in the corners not equalling just the log height. The instructions are great in places then fade to nothing in other areas. You'll need the website picture to work out where and how the eaves boards go! Instructions for the ridge are best found on IKO's website -its a far better description. Regrets: The door height -obviously! Not upgrading to a more secure door. Not choosing the paint/finish at the time of order and getting it included in the delivery. Not measuring the landing area for the whole package off the lorry -it is massive!”
“We would highly reccommend using Tuin. The customer service and response time is superb and the information provided when ordering makes its so easy plan delivery and payment. I had to re arrange delivery and an alternative date was offered no problem and it was delivered ontime and I also received a call a few days before and on the day to confirm delivery. The product is quite straightforward to assemble and my husband done this himself with limited help using the instructions provided and the information on the website. The cabin itself is fantastic and I know my children will love it for years to come. Don't hesitate if you are thinking of buying a Tuin product.”
“The team at tuin kept us informed of delivery progress,no problems. We are so pleased with our Chloe summer house. My husband an d I assembled the house ,it slotted together perfectly because the design is faultless.Everyone who comes to see it think we paid a lot more than we did.Once we preserved it the colour of the wood is beautiful. It will be our perfect hot tub retreat. Thank you!!!!”
“Excellent service and a great product. The cabin arrived early and was off loaded efficiently. Time spent organising the various different timbers is well spent and makes the build a one man job except for heavy rafter (purlins). Very pleased with final product and look of the cabin. Advice and tips on the website very easy to read and very helpful.”
“From ordering to delivery of the Chloe log cabin and the then seamless construction, we found everything as advertised on the excellent web site. The cabin is manufactured to the highest standard and was a pleasure to build although having no previous experience. Having treated the cabin as recommended now in the process of fitting the floor. Can highly recommend this cabin, and the Tuin company from the sales staff to the expertise of the delivery driver and his manoeuvring skills with the fork lift truck.”
“We recently took delivery of a 4x3 Chloe log cabin, delivery arrived on day specified by turn, driver also contacted me with an eta. On arrival we realised that the lorry was going have problems accessing our small housing estate. So the driver used his Moffat truck and brought the pallet virtually to the door. The driver was a very courteous, pleasant young man, and was more than happy to get the load as near as he could, he put it on the driveway which was perfect, and very much appreciated. On All reviews said that it was a 2 man job, it is indeed. However, with the exception of the shingles nothing is particularly heavy, but lengths of timber are awkward which means you need 2 people one at each end. It took me and my husband about an hour to unpack the pallet. Once unpacked we checked everything off from the list that comes with it. We also checked for any obvious damages at the same time. We then arranged the materials into order of use. This worked fantastically well, it was plain sailing from there on. Although we are seasoned diy'ers, and found it really really easy to build. I can assure you that anyone can build this cabin the instruction are so easy to follow. But if you get stuck you can look online, which my husband did on a couple of occasions when he was doing the ridge with the shingles. It's all there. We had the cabin up in 2 days but it's really taken us over a week to do everything we wanted to do. But we have taken our time as it was in 30 degree heatwave. We have also taken extra time on the floor, installing membrane under floor joints, and insulating with 40mm celotex boards, under floorboards. We have sanded the floor and clear varnish it looks great. The outside is painted with a natural clay colour paint which looks fantastic against the greenery in the garden. To conclude It is a leap of faith purchasing from a picture on the net and few reviews, and have to say that this is th first time we have ever purchase anything made of timber as we have always built our own from scratch, this cabin was worth every penny. It's going to be a garden room for us, and I know it's going to give us years of pleasure.”
