“Using 2 of these in my old CJ preamp and like them a lot. If it helps, I'm more into timbre than "detail", not that these tubes lack detail.”

“This was my second order of these tubes - the first pair gave up after more or less continual use. They are the best-sounding NOS tubes I have found for my Rogue Sphinx 2 (with the possible exception of Telefunkens, which are no longer in my price range).”

“After dealing with less than stellar NOS RCA triple mica black plates that left me wanting in clarity of midrange, I thought I’d give these a try. It is night and day difference! A veil has been lifted and the midrange is the most defined I’ve ever heard in my system! If you’re thinking about these, stop what you’re doing and order them. My Tannoy’s have never sounded better! Upscale Audio delivers again!”

“I was not expecting this tube to make as significant of a difference as it does. I have had it in my system for a month. It replaced the stock JJ preamp tube in my Rogue CMIII integrated. As soon as I installed it, I noticed how much quieter it was than the JJ. I hesitate to claim the Rogue sounds like a completely different amp, but the fact I'm contemplated it tells you something. The midrange has more flesh to it, not really more warmth, but more body and detail. I hear more detail and air in the treble, as well. To sum up, the Brimar noticeably improved the sound of my system and I would not want to go back to the stock tube.”

“ultimately not a great match for my system or my preference. have rogue rp-1 which is where these went. this is connected to rogue m-180 blocks through vandersteen quattro wood with clear audio performance dc turntable with hana mc cartridge. the system has such rich mids on its own that with these tubes they become alolmost muddled. will likely move them to a second system which is a bit bright”
