I purchased these to replace and allow me to save my Prima Luna branded tubes. I prefer EL34 tubes; these do have a little more base, but not very much.

I like these tubes, because they sound very balanced on my system. I control my soundstaging & tone control with my pre-amp tubes, and I find the Mullards very ameneable to that approch. Yes, I will buy them again........ John

I just replaced the el34's in my Primaluna Prologue integrated w/ the Mullard kt88's. Wow wee ! A friend said " you're probably in the sweet spot" with tubes. My amp sounds better than I thought it would now. Stronger bass , better top end , to my ears anyway. Thank you Upscale. P.S. they look great too.

I replaced Gold Lion KT-88's with these. Overall, I like the sound of the Mullards.

Most tubes need 200-300 hours to truly blossom. However, Upscale's 78-hour burn-in prior to delivery helped these KT88s sound incredibly good out of the box. I have them powering a Willsenton R8 amp. The Mullards most definitely sound better than the stock Willsenton-branded tubes right away. I've had them on all day and can already tell subtle changes. I very much look forward to listening to the amp while the tubes mature. I have Sylvania 6SN7 and 6SL7 NOS tubes in the amplifier and rectification slots. Bass weight and tightness were immediately apparent, as was a smoother, silkier top end. The midrange is holographic and dimensional. Voices and instruments float in air. Orchestral sections are distinct even on densely orchestrated symphonic passages. I had considered the Golden Lions. I use the 300Bs in my Reisong A50 amp. However, there were too many reliability issues reported online for the KT88s to take a risk on more expensive tubes.
