“As a long time return customer, the Sovtek 6550-WE was a return repeat choice. My Sovtek purchases over the last 30 years have resulted in good dependable performance. The security of the Upscale testing, with 72hr. burn-in is worth a double digit percentage of the the price of each Tube. The Upscale Audio QC control is above the rest why risk fancy labels and promises, Upscale delivers. My 6550 amps have adjustable bias so I always start where the prior Tubes are parked. They old Svetlana 6550-C were at 50ma, the new 6550-WE came in settling at 40ma. I upped the bias to 50ma per Tube, I use the MK3 Triode Board Driver with dual 12AU7's. The rectifier is GZ37. My Mono-blocks have built-in bias meters. Sitting back, the Top end is fully on now, with a midrange palette with great LF extension. It will be some weeks before these 6550 settle-in. A+”
