“The elastic is really tight so they're hard to get on and off even though the size is right once they're on. I imagine this will loosen up over time. I would also love more arch support but will buy inserts to make them more comfortable. Great waterproofing though.”
Hi Signe,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We’re sorry to hear you’re finding your Vessis difficult to get on. For some reference, however, it’s actually quite normal for the ankle opening to be a little snug to start. Over the first few wears of your new shoes, you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate your foot shape. By starting tighter, this allows the shoe to mold to your ankle shape - making sure no water seeps in through the ankle opening.
Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight.
That said, I'll be sure to pass your feedback on the ankle opening and arch support along to our Product team, as we are always looking to improve. We'll use your insight towards our research and development for our future design improvements.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts on your Vessis with us.
“These were pretty comfortable right off the bat, no blisters or chafed ankles. I like that the knit texture doesn't show my toes through the shoe as a lot of knit shoes do. True to size. My only small gripe is that the ankle hole is a teeny bit small, but not totally uncomfortable and hoping it stretches out in the future. Also feels like quite a flat shoe but not an issue for me (if you need more support you'd probably need insoles)”
“My husband and I really like our vessis. He wears them as his winter running shoes when he doesn't want to wear the heavy boots.
The idea of waterproof shoes is awesome, but I still do get some water when I step into a puddle or get splashed. Not sure that can be helped with a shoe vs. a boot. But they are still very comfortable so still happy.”
“This is my 2nd pair of Vessi’s . They are great for work, I’m a Vet Technician and these shoes are very comfortable since I’m on my feet for 13 hour shifts. Not to mention they keep me from slipping when working with the animals.”
“As a healthcare provider, it’s great to have comfortable and waterproof shoes such as these. The all black shoes look professional yet comfortable with scrubs.
As for the fit of the shoe, the neck of the shoes is so snug around the ankle that I didn’t even need the shoelaces, so I took them off but now the part where you lace the shoelaces looks a bit awkward without the laces. Maybe this design would be better without the shoelaces at all or in a style that customers can decide if they want to keep the laces on/off and it still look good. I’m a size W6 and the shoes fit true to size. They make your foot look quite wide when looking at the shoes from a birds eye view”
