“It’s a good fit, like a glove on the foot and comfortable. On the downside, the band around the top can be a bit tight if you get a little bit of swelling around the ankles and you can’t loosen or tighten that part of the shoe. Additionally, can be a little difficult to manage putting on the shoe if you have some issues with grip of the hands/fingers. Overall I’m enjoying the shoes, just had to adjust by adding an insole and managing when I wear them.”
Hi Maria,
It’s normal for the ankle opening to be a little firm to start. Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate and create the perfect shape around your feet. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle. The only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape. This creates that snug, sock like fit that we are loved for!
Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. We recommend a shoehorn in the meantime to help you put your shoes on. Glad you like them!
Hi Rachel,

“My daughter loves her Vessi’s. The first pair she had were the original white everyday Vessi over the years they have been great until recently the sole started to come away. So now we ordered this pair and my daughter abolsuteky loves them. They are especially great for the rainy Vancouver days”
Hi Nina,
We're so sorry to hear that the soles started to break away for your first pair but happy that she's loving the second pair just as much! Happy puddle hunting :)
“I bought these to replace a pair of nikes. I work long hours in the hospital and my feet and legs ache something terrible after wearing these shoes. I was so excited for my Vessi shoes too. I had to buy gel insoles but my feet still ache. I miss my Nikes :( Atleast they are water proof. But i am sorry to say not the most comfortable shoe. Also they are quite large fitting. I wish i sized down.”
Hi Vicki,
We are sorry to hear that your Vessis were not as comfortable as you were expecting! Being a lifestyle / casual to lightly active shoe, Vessis have relatively low arch support, but we made the insoles removable to allow the most customizable fit for those wanting to wear them for longer distances or for those that need extra support! So you can add your own custom orthotics or special insoles!
We are happy to see that one of our agents were able to help provide a solution for you. If you have any further comments or questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
“The first month of my Vessi's were GREAT! They were so comfy and light and easy. Now, 3.5 months later, I cannot even wear them without my feet becoming sore after only an hour. I wanted to love these SO MUCH but unfortunately I can't. Really disappointing. They are definitely waterproof as well, but also become dirty and difficult to clean almost every day.”
Hi Mandy,
We're sorry to hear that your experience with your Vessi's was disappointing after several months. We completely understand how frustrating it must be to not be able to wear the shoes from more than an hour. If you would like additional comfort, you have the option of replacing the insoles with an orthotic one like Dr. Scholls. To clean your Vessis, a sponge, mild soap and warm water should help get rid of any dirt and impurities.
We're happy to see that one of our agents reached out and was able to help figure out a solution for you.
Once again, we're sorry to hear that your Vessi's aren't a good fit for you. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and will definitely pass it along to our product team. We hope you'll try us again in the future!
