This wine saver is a replacement for the Eurocave WineSaver that I had for many years. The Wine Enthusiast Wine Saver is much improved from the previous saver and works great. Keeps wine at the right temp, keeps wine with that just opened taste for up to10 days. Perfect for our household.

After the 1st month the unit is doing what it is supposed to do --- we do like the ability to place and chill the taller bottles of wine.

Love it. Nice look and quite . Easy to use. Just started to use it, seems to work perfect. My old one that I bought years ago had finally quit after about 6 yrs of use. I loved it. I am so glad to finally replace it with the new model. I am sure it will be my best friend. I am the only one who drinks wine in my family and like to have a glass or 2 with my dinner. It is great to be able to preserve my wine. I am a wine member of a few wineries of very good wine and the Some du Vin 2-Bottle Wine allows me to enjoy my great wine over several days.

Had 2 Somm du Vins for about a month now and they've been everything I hoped for. Kept both reds and whites in them with great results. Kept about 1/3rd of a bottle in the unit for 5 days and the wine showed no notes of oxidation, still fresh and enjoyable. Prior to the Somm du Vin I would keep several vacuum sealed opened bottles in the refrigerator, needing to allow them to warm to drinking temperature before consuming again. Now, we just grab the bottle out of the Somm du Vin and pour - it's ready to go. Very happy with the Somm du Vin so far, interested in seeing how durable it is over time.

The product does what it says it will do. The only reason I deducted a star is that the unit is very noisy. My kitchen, dining room and family room are all one large room. I can hear the unit even when at the far end of the room with the TV on. Otherwise, it's a terrific device!

About 20 years ago I bought a EuroCave unit from sowine that delivered the same functions (tried to post a photo but won't take it). Each door opened independently when it released the vacuum and it had white and red temp. It was 2/3 the size of this unit, which I could fit on the shelf of a bookcase in my office - 10" deep, 10" wide, 20" high and whisper quiet once the vacuum set. I loved it but over the last few years, the seals have gone and won't hold a vacuum, which make it annoying, noisy and uses electricity. I have looked at this for a long time, and I read the reviews, but I am frankly shocked at how loud this is. It is 4x the sound and noisier than the 12 bottle cooler I have in my living room storage cabinet. It overwhelmed the spot on the kitchen counter I had thought to put it on. And the instructions recommend making sure you have 4" of clear space at the back to avoid burning up the fan - so that means you can't really snug it up against a wall. With an open floor plan home, it would be too loud. So it is in my office on a piece of furniture next to my stereo equipment. I think, if I turn off the cooling (which isn't a big deal as I use it mostly for the sealing, not the temp control) it will hold the vacuum seal, so I have been playing with doing that. So I have been doing that when I am in my office and turning it back on at night. I am sure it also uses a lot of energy with that fan running all the time. Verdict - I far prefer my EuroCave but they don't make it anymore, so this will have to do - it is better than other options for storing wine when you are one person who likes to have multiple bottles during the week. Just find the right location for it where the noise doesn't bother you (so it's not anything you show off unless you have a party room with a bar!) and you have enough space. It could work well in a large pantry area, I am actually thinking about making a shelf for it in the 'closet' (well ventilated) where my washer and dryer are located - it would be convenient and I think when I close the slatted/vented doors, you wouldn't hear it.
