“I researched several wine racks before deciding on this version for a home based casual wine cellar vibe. Based on prior responses, I knew that assembly might be challenging and that other folks had secured the racks from the rear to wall studs. Eyes thus open, I ordered two racks to use side-by-side and attached with the same middle section - a nice feature that does indeed increase stability. I am very good with my hands when it comes to wood, DIY home projects, and carpentry. So expecting some trouble, and even allowing for my skill level, I was still pleasantly surprised at the ease of assembly. I did it myself balancing the wood beans to slide in the first shelf tier. Once done, each subsequent set of screws/dows were inserted and the next shelf lowered. I typically gave them a firm pop to make sure the shelves fit into the dow spacer. Then it was simply a matter of rinse/repeat until the last shelf was installed. Note: I kept all the screws/dows loose and went back after the fact to tighten them sequentially. This is a must for easy insertion of the shelves. I also left room to get behind the rack - so not up against the wall - which really helped the tightening process. As far as the metal X supports, I only found one hole pre-drilled. No big deal... I used my cordless drill to sink more holes once the the top two were done. This was to let me extend the cross pieces to find the optimum place for the bottom holes using the actual metal pieces. The screws came with the assembly.The racks are free standing on our concrete slab in the basement, and very sturdy. As noted by others, they do not hold the larger size bottles well, but that was not as relevant for my needs. For the old-world mahogany appearance, fine quality, modest price and ample storage space - 126 bottles for each - these racks are a homerun. I plan on ordering more. I didn't give this product a 5-star rating simply because they should offer a solution for the oversize bottle issue - at least on a few shelves - and they don't explain the multi-rack center linking feature in advance. However, if the website allowed a more discerning rating system, I would give this product 4.5 stars.”

“I needed a bit more space for wine in a small room and this provided just that. When it arrived with all the boxes, etc. it looked daunting but proved very doable and not to hard to assemble. It is sturdy and it fit the bill for us.”

“This is a great product that delivers its description. My only recommendation for improvement is to accommodate for wider bottles. not just Turleys come in "oversized" bottles these days; many Bordeauxs and cabs do as well. Otherwise I am a very happy consumer!”
