“I was very pleased with how quickly and easily it went together. It definitely takes 2 people to get the first shelf on; after that, one person could do it. Suggestions in other reviews were very helpful in terms of ease of assembly such as slide shelves straight down vs at a diagonal and do NOT tighten screws much at all until completed. We bought it for cellar purposes and it works great. It is certainly attractive enough for being in a more noticeable place. It seems very sturdy.”

“Now, here is the BIG negative. After purchasing the rack, I started receiving lots and lots and lots of emails from Wine Enthusiast and its "affiliated companies". Not just the occasional sales offer -- they started spamming me. I was getting at least two emails a day, some days more.After repeated requests to unsubscribe I stopped getting them. I'll give them credit for that. However, this was ridiculous. I don't mind, and in fact welcome, the occasional offer from a company I've done business with. Were it reasonable (like maybe once a week at most), I might have even read them and bought some wine from them or other accessories. But this was such absurd overreach that despite being happy with the wine rack I bought and the customer service on that purchase I would never buy anything from this company again. IN fact, I will not even renew my subscription to Wine Enthusiast ... just more nuisance than it's worth. I don't understand why a company would assume that anyone who buys something from them wants to be harrassed. Incredibly annoying. They took me from being happy with my purchase and feeling pretty good about doing business with them to wanting nothing to do with them ever. Great job losing a customer through badgering guys.”

“The directions need updating to reflect that hex nuts now hold the rack together; not Phillips screws, as described. Also, holes for the back bracket supports ARE NOT pre-drilled, as promised. I bought 3 racks and by the third one, things went together pretty quickly, but I learned through trial and error. These racks need a good technical writer to do a better step-by-step description for the assembly instructions.”

“Once assembled this unit was very sturdy. I have no concerns it can hold the weight of 126 bottles. However, the quality of the product is to be desired. Pieces were ill fitting and required significant finesse and muscle to get them into place. When putting together, you start at the bottom and work your way up, adding levels as you go. We did not tighten the bolts but for a few hand turns on the threads to keep things in place. This is obviously good practice in anything you do, but the quality of the product still makes assembly difficult and frustrating at times.Boxes arrived in very rough shape. Pieces of the product were severely damaged and required wood glue to restore. Luckily most damaged pieces could be arranged in the assembly process in such a manner to be placed facing the back of the unit making observation of the damage almost imperceivable.Should you receive a unit with better quality control and undamaged, I would recommend this product. As delivered to me and the work required in forcing this unit together, two stars is extremely generous.”

“The UPS freight service put the racks on the wrong truck or gave a similar excuse so they arrived a few days late. The plan was to assemble the racks, organize and catalog the wine during the Xmas-New Year period and despite the delay, this worked out.”
