“When i put it in, it was so awesome it looked like it didn't exist! However, after one fire, it was completely covered in black soot. I cleaned and tried different wood. Tried a few things. It gets black SOOO easily. Disappointed with that part. Seems pretty solid though. Fit perfectly too.”

The glass can turn black for many reasons such as burning unseasoned wood, faulty airwash system, wood burning against the glass, not burning hot enough or poor draw. This is not because of the glass.
