“A published author, I still consider myself to be “learning the craft”. Lee Child’s BBC Maestro writer’s course is invaluable – both in content and (very reasonable) cost. It’s the most useful, inspiring and fascinating course I have found in 10 years of writing.
Lee obviously doesn’t “need” to do this … But he takes the trouble to share his extraordinary talents, success, and fascinating insights and lessons in a mammoth 32 lesson course (longer than other courses in the series) to teach, inspire and celebrate thriller fiction writing. He dispels the myths of high-school, college/university and “how to” writing books, and presents a humble, yet focused and expert way to write your first novel. (I particularly enjoyed his take on literary fiction v popular fiction and his ideas and techniques on whether to plot or not). Even if you’re already published, you’d be remiss not to enjoy this course. It’s also a pleasure to “meet” the master himself - a humble, congenial fellow, who remains as down to earth, charming, passionate and authentic as he probably was before his success.
