“The way in which every single issue is explored and explained by Carol Ann Duffy is extraordinary. Eventhough I am Spanish I can understand It and follow It very Well. I wrote some poems and I am really Happy with the result. I have been written since I was fourteen Years Old so I quite enjoying coming back to It after a short period of abandonment. I am truly enjoying the course. And the teacher is truly fantastic and really motivated. Thanks very much I am in lesson fifteen, so far so good. I don't miss a lesson every day I try to catch Up with. I read "Rapture" and "New Selected Poems" by Carol Ann Duffy the ones I found in the library and T.S Eliot and Seamus Heany. “Duffy is a fascinating and engaging teacher, she delivers the lessons in a simple and easy to understand way, yet there is so much detail and depth packed into every class. I like how she reads and shares her own poems and other poets' poems and tells us interesting observations and details of the process of writing. I like her instructions on keeping a notebook and how to keep notes; how to think, see and listen like a poet. This course is opening up my mind and is giving me so much to think about and to practice. I also like the visual aesthetic of the setting - the poet-teacher sitting in the comfortable armchair in the library/study, with her books and a few beautiful furnishings and items. The colors and the interior design styling create a setting that is very pleasing to look at.”

“She is very engaging, personable and (obviously) knowledgeable but the skill is in being able to share that knowledge in a way that her students understand. That they can learn from and put into practice. I haven't got to the end yet and I hope that she will cover what do with your poetry once you feel that it's in a fit state to share with others and (hopefully) get published.”
