“I am enjoying the course and am 7/22nds into the syllabus. There's a lot to digest and a lot of reading homework that one is encouraged to do after each lesson. I am learnign much. As a criticism I would say there's insuffiecient examples shown, perhaps that's just me being slow. An example would be in the outline lesson where we Mr. Follett leafs through a thirty paged types outline. He has said what should go into it, but an example for us to rfer to would be beneficial. Thanks for an intriguing course.”

“As a novice, I found him to be an excellent teacher. I've watched many of these writing courses by great writers, but not everyone is a great teacher. Mr. Follett is, so thank you.”

“I've done a couple of the Maestro courses, all have been excellent. The notes are comprehensive, and the videos are nicely detailed. I thought they may have just gone through the motions without REALLY saying much about how to write, for example, but quite the opposite.
I find Ken Follett's course great so far. He explains things clearly, but thoroughly. I already feel better equipped to tackle a novel and not even halfway through the course.
I would most definitely recommend this course, along with others in the Maestro catalogue.”

“Of all the courses here on BBC Maestro, Ken Follett's "Writing Bestselling Fiction" has been my favorite and the most informative to me. Mr. Follett walks you through his process -- from the book's inspiration to the publishing process -- and gives incredible insights into what has worked for him as a bestseller for nearly FIVE DECADES. What I love is that he brings in other voices -- notably that of granddaughter Alexandra Overey -- to give viewers more perspectives and pointers on the process.
As someone who loves to write (but has never attempted to publish anything...but might) this course was encouraging. It showed me that much of what I have been doing intuitively is the "right way" to go about things and it also helped me work past some roadblocks and frustrations that I never even realized I had in my writing.
My only knock against this course is that it was 5 times longer -- I could have listened to Mr. Follett talk about his books, his process, or just give advice and tell stories for as long as he was willing to talk.”
