“How clever and knowledgeable Ken Follett is! I’ve learned so much from his lessons. His pragmatism and no-nonsense approach to writing are truly inspiring. I still have a few lessons left to complete, but, like with a good book, part of me doesn’t want it to end.
As always, the BBC’s work is close to perfection. The camera work, sound, and lighting are all top-notch.
This might be the best treat I’ve given myself this year!”

“Beautifully structured and very insightful! I learned a lot and enjoyed every minute.
I am also working on my first novel and this course helped me organize my thoughts and workflow *a lot*.
Thank you for the wonderful lessons, Mr. Follett!”
“Sometimes there are those who look down on popular fiction. Ken Follett has created a sense of this being an art and not something to be snootily dismissed. There are practical guides and real examples which crystallise everything he has described. It's a delightful course and well worth working through. It will make you write - not just one style but just write. That's the beauty of it.”

“He’s such a profession in every way! A subject I’d like to see mentioned, or discussed is how to classify the genre of one’s book. For example, if one has a historical fiction book w/magical realism, drama and romance….how does one label the genre? Is it literary fiction? Women’s fiction? Young Adult vs. Old Adult? Are there do’s and don’t’s to how to classify one’s book? Are their Literary Agents and publishers that look for the one specific genre and not a novel that falls into multiple genres?
I believe my question is an understated topic that is worth discussing and mentioning for these great Authors selected by BBC to discuss and stand out among others. Thank you! Ken Follett ROCKS!!!!”
