“It's always a risk to commit to a video when it's not clear what to expect. As an amateur I would have been expecting it to include techniques I would have been very disappointed. “I've already recommended BBC Maestro to friends and family, as a learning opportunity, but also the Jonathan Yeo videos have been a wonderful chance for me to see how artists work. I paint portraits in oils, a recent finalist in the SAA competition, and regularly follow Raw Umber Studios, drawing in pastel, charcoal, and want to expand my knowledge and maybe even sell some paintings in time. Jonathan is very interesting, as he hasn't been to art school, and neither have I. I wanted to know more, and I could watch it through several times.
